Congress Elections: Pitches from your political parties

Day 3,961, 02:35 Published in Netherlands Slovakia by Willem The Conqueror
Dear Readers,

Tomorrow, the Congress Elections will take place in our country. With 20 seats to be filled and 35 candidates up for election, this will be a closely watched run. I asked the different party presidents to deliver a short pitch. Four of the five presidents responded on time, which is a great thing for our democracy.

Let's see what they have got to say to you, their constituents.

Democratisch Nederland - 14 candidates.
Party President: Shawtyl0w.

Dear reader,

Allow me to introduce the political party Democratisch Nederland. Democratisch Nederland (DemNL) is a political party that has always been and still is highly active in the eNL political landscape serving many, many governments. Although we are registered as a centre-left, libertarian party we embrace all political views. Together we debate and find solutions through collaborations, not only within our party but also with the help of other parties. A great example is the recently published lawbook revision project. We've always been involved in drawing up new laws and a great part of the current lawbook was written by some of our older members. The party is home to many former country presidents and has served as one of the backbones of our national politics in recent years. If you are interested in politics, please come and join us. Take a peek behind the doors of the Democratisch Nederland political party! We will respect your opinion and views on political topics. Our members are willing to share their knowledge and resources with you. We give everyone a fair chance to blossom in all areas of this game.

Signed,

Shawtyl0w
Party president, Democratisch Nederland

Iron and Wine - 10 candidates.
Party President: odan.

For the coming month(s), I believe the most important things will be the proposed law revision and the rental agreements.

As a party, our laws and the national meeting/debating grounds (forum) are important to us, and we will keep a close and critical eye on anything that endangers that.

The rental agreement is a good thing, I doubt any party will disagree there, however we think we could and should renegotiate for a better pay-out.

As the oldest and (recently) biggest party in eNL we hope to keep growing and provide a good place for our members and any new arrivals are more than happy to join us and benefit from our experience, be it with politics, economics, warfare or just some old fashioned fun.

Revolution et Libertas - 6 candidates.
Party President: MDSanderon.

Revolution et Libertas is the party of progress, not of the status quo that has been ruling our country over the last couple of years. We despise defeatist and cynical remarks about the current state of the eNetherlands and believe the eNetherlands still deserves utmost care to realize the fullest potential there still is in our population. Running the country as managers during a recession is not the way forward as that would ensure the further demise of the eNetherlands.

We, therefore, support all means to mobilize the potential in our country and adapt ourselves to the current mechanics of the game. We're no fan of the outdated external forum that sometimes rules supreme of actual in-game events and common sense, but we do not only complain but contribute to and support the recent initiatives to reform and improve the system.

We don't believe in taxing our people, only to stash away the money for years without purpose - hence we support the recent instalment of programs (Housing, Air) that increases activity and power of the eNL community. Some may call us populists, but what we truly call for is just common sense.

Geuzen Partij Nederland - 3 candidates.
Party President: Alex the best123.

GPN is the only far-right authoritarian party in the eNetherlands. Some of our standpoints include:

Drawing up a few laws that are necessary for our nation, and when this short lawbook is finished, we throw away the whole lawbook that we have now. It's just way too time-consuming to try and reform what we have, so this is what's needed.
Training Wars make this game boring as hell, so we'd prefer a real war, something we need an AS for. An adventure for all of us, to make the game interesting again. This would also draw players to our tiny nation.
We also applaud this administration for the Flying Dutchmen and housing projects, keep up the good work guys.

A big thanks to the four party presidents who have taken the time to write a pitch. I hope these pitches have helped you, my readers, in your decision tomorrow. I wish all of the candidates for congressional office good luck in this election run.
