Dubhthaigh and Niall!
It was a hard fought election which came right down to the wire with only a 2 vote margin. A late secession by the IUP could have turned the tide for JohnSmith 2K9 but Dubh/Niall's heavy campaigning helped them clench the victory.
Now the real work begins.
I know I and the rest of Ireland will be looking to you men to lead us through March as we prepare for the coming game changes. Let your Presidency be a bastion of Forward Thinking and Strong Leadership in these uncertain times.
I am pleased to say that the overall tone of the campaign remained positive and I hope you carry this spirit of non-partisanship into your term. As a cross-party ticket I know that you will recognize the talent in many citizens, no matter their affiliations. I hope you will call on myself and the other 😜
residents for guidance and advice.
On a personal note, you 2 are both dear friends and I know you will make a great team. Do us proud boys 😉

I do not want this to sound like sour grapes, when I lost by 7 votes two months ago I congratulated Edna the next morning. It was a fair election and she won. But the voting was strange in this election. John was winning with 5 minutes to go and suddenly dub gets 2 votes to win with only 14 people on line? John is winning by 7 votes at 12:30 Irish time last night and then suddenly dub gets 7 votes to tie it up? 31 more votes cast then the congress elections 10 days before? If there was cheating going on I do not think dub did it or knew about it.
Lastly, What is different about what the IUP did last night then and what you did 2 months ago appleman? What they did was fair and they did not ask for any special deal and did it in the open. They supported who they thought was the best canadite, fair play to them.

Congrats Dubh. Its hard to win the presidency but, you pushed ahead and got it. I guess we will meet in the Dail 🙂
Well MooMooHead, I'm not a project Lambda supporter and I voted for John.
The way I see it is that there is no way to get rid of the multi's votes. It's clear to everyone that they exist and in my opinion they exist on all sides of the political spectrum. Considering that the IUP decided to throw the election and support John, I figure that John would have gotten at least as many multi's votes than Dubh and most likely more.
So if people do give out about this result it will only be a slandering ploy, although I'm not saying you are slandering.
Fwiw John was ahead at 5.30 in the morning Irish time too, by about three if I remember right (was ill last night, checked erep while I was waiting for meds to kick in 🙁)
That said Dubh's pres now, and I've never doubted that he works his knackers off for eIreland. I have concerns, it's true, but I've no doubt he'll do his best.
I wouldn't accuse either side of cheating. You know there are multis for both sides, whether the candidates knew it or not. It's just a fact in games like this, and it happens. For my part, I heard something shady about certain candidates, as well, but since there's no way to tell if it's true or rumor, there's no point in saying anything other than: Don't bother accusing any side of cheating.
