As the Smoke Clears

Day 2,318, 21:21 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

It's been an eventful couple of days. I want to take a moment to talk about it. By now everyone knows about the happenings in WTP. I'd like to focus on the incredible teamwork that went into the successful ATO operation conducted on the 24th. We've been able to have free elections and congress for some time without Rogue proposals, and violations of IES laws by Serbian Congressmen, a great deal of effort was put into preventing a recurrence. There's a lot of credit to go around.

WTP leadership (DMJ, Disco, MMike, Tanishq, Mazzy, etc), as operations began so many prominent members of WTP unflinchingly rolled up their sleeves and went to the task of pulling their own Party out of the top 5. I couldn't help but put myself in their shoes. It would be so hard to have to join with other Fed leaders in undoing months and in some cases years of hard work. It would be so hard to do, but they did it without complaint for the good of the nation. WTP truly embodied Country > Party > Self.

Credit also goes to Henry William French, and the Black Sheep. Months ago during my first term as Secretary of Homeland Security the transition doc I was given gave me a choice between French and DiscoMusolini as ato candidates for the AFA. French was higher on the ballot, and during discussions with the two he repeatedly said he had plans for the party he'd be taking over. He built a viable 6th Party out of the wreckage of the AFA. Without a sizeable 6th Party to float up this task would have been much harder to accomplish. The nation owes a debt of gratitude to the blacksheep.

When it became apparent that there was a problem on our hands a group of people got together to come up with a plan of action. I think recognition to Josh Frost and Oblige is owed. They were integral in planning the operation and executing the plan. I was working much of the day on the 24th, but idled in irc and checked in as often as possible. Both of them worked tirelessly to keep things going smoothly and update the team on progress. It was impressive and labor intensive.

This situation was sad, destructive, and unnecessary. However, the silver lining is the response to it. A team was assembled with alacrity, and work on a common goal began immediately. There was no infighting or finger pointing, just a resolve to protect the nation from going backwards in ATO. It was an honor and a privilege to be a small part of it.
