An all too familiar situation
H. S. Dovewatch
Dear, oh dear.
It seems that PEACE and ATLANTIS have started mass voting articles here against each other. I’d like to think that this confrontation means India can have an a little advantage or two for once, but unfortunately this PEACE-ATLANTIS bickering reminds me of an all too familiar situation…
Back in Austria we joined up with Germany. This should have been fine, but the Hungarians were adamant that Austria did not join Germany as we would become neutral and vanquish our previous state as a PEACE country.
So they got involved and managed to get the Burgenland from us (it’s complicated) and a Hungarian extremist and his gang managed to hold Tyrol against the Germans during the union.
And that was fine, Germany-Austria was great. But then came the time of reckoning. For some obscure reason, Germany had to choose between PEACE or ATLANTIS. They chose ATLANTIS, and then sparketh the PEACE temper tantrum as they believed the Germans were now oppressors of the Austrians (who really never liked PEACE all along) and decided to ‘liberate’ Austria.
But that’s not really the point. The point is that there was a horrible dispute, friends spat at friends and Congress were at each other’s throats while newspaper articles voted up from either PEACE or ATLANTIS countries took over the news and other important articles were lost. Oh Blow me down and steal a symbol of my marital status, this reminds me of our current situation!
The big problem is that we are coming up the Presidential elections in a one party state, and so interviews and reports are vital and are being lost because of bickering.
Here is a link to my interview with Anjan Sakar, a candidate for the presidency of India:

And here is a link to Ambrose’s second article on General Welfare and the Role of the government: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/general-welfare-the-role-of-government-part-2-of-5-788707/1/20'>http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/general-welfare-the-role-of-government-part-2-of-5-788707/1/20
Okay, point A made.
Point B is that being in an alliance like PEACE or ATLANTIS is terrible, annoying and generally just wrong for a pacifist nation like India.
I believe I speak for all of Congress when I state to all PEACE or ATLANTIS representatives or supporters that we do not intend to support any country except India as we make our decision. We wish to stay neutral permanently and will not base our decisions on the previous actions of any other state or alliance, just what is best for Indian development.

Good Article, a little one sided but hey I'm biased. 🙂 It's tough when a pacifist country gets caught in the PEACE - ATLANTIS machinery. Its very likely they get all chewed up. Good Luck.
Good to know about your thoughts, voted.
"Austrians (who really never liked PEACE all along)"????
Interesting comment, Robert... Austria is an oldest Peace country in Erepublik. It was NEVER going to stay allied with Atlantis.
Ooh, I'm sorry Hrvat. I'm sorry that, in fact, the Austrians (well, most of us...) thought that development was more important than alliegence, and that many Austrians openly spoke out against PEACE at the time of the sundering...
And we were weren't Austria -we were Austria-Germany- and ATLANTIS is where we decided to go and if you think that petty alliances are more important than the sucess of a country, then so be it.
