Advice to our Baltic Comrades: Let Russia Fight!

Day 1,651, 15:32 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

First off, let me wish people living in the US a happy Memorial Day! Let us remember those who fought for us, both in real life and in the New World, and also celebrate a day off from our normal routines! *confetti*

Now, let me get down to what I wanted to say. If you haven't already noticed by now, the Baltics are going through hilariously ridiculous upheaval. As Belarus claims back its original lands, many people are rushing to help our Belarusian buddies out. DON'T.

If what I assume is correct is true, Russia plans to capture the two southern Latvian provinces *see map* that originally belong to Belarus (they've taken one already) before giving them back to Belarus and then start to attack Latvian homelands. If Belarus succeeds in taking Latgale, however, this will ultimately backfire and possibly result in Belarus' wipe once again.

Look, I don't mean to downplay Belarus' power, but one thing's for sure; there's no beating bad boy Russia if your name doesn't rhyme with colon or...lerbia...

If Belarus cuts off Russia's path through Latvia, Russia will become a non-factor. They'll be blocked off by Belarus and will have no chance of reaching Kaliningrad. While Belarus may yet claim its homelands, it won't be nearly as powerful as the Russia-Belarus tag team could be.

What happens if the path stays unblocked? Russia could theoretically capture all of Latvia, connecting the homeland to the outpost to the west. RWing the lands back to Belarus, Russia would be in prime position to eat Lithuania for dessert, or go another direction and give Finland a needed edge in battle against long-time rival Estonia. With Latvia out of the way and Lithuania next, Poland would be at Russia's doorstep, and Russia vs Poland is something we'd all like to see. So please, Belarus, let Russia fight! Besides, wouldn't something like this look nice?

Until next time, take care!
