A Look at Storage

Well, it’s been a while since I wrote an actual article, and I’m procrastinating packing to go home for the summer, where you probably won’t hear from me anyway, so might as well write an article again. 😛

We got the ability to buy double storage today, which is pretty cool. I’ll admit, I threw 750 USD at the admins for a couple storage spots. I’ll use them eventually even though I don’t need them right now.



The good thing here is that people that don’t want to need to dump all their products on day 1282 won’t have to. Prices will probably drop a little bit in the days leading up to the big cutoff even so, but not as drastically (Protip: stock up then if you’ve got the space and sell later when prices climb a bit, but you’ll have to judge the prices fairly well since there won’t be a set day of lowest prices, but a gradual decline)

Prices will likely be a little lower than they are now once the adjustment to the new storage system filters through the economy since people will have to sell their inventory instead of stockpiling it, which will keep a more constant supply on the market, lowering the prices.

Another cool effect of this temporary special is that some USD (along with other currencies, but the same general effect will happen for all of them, so bear with me as an example here) will be leaving the economy. The drop in USD will create a larger demand for what is left, so USD might become worth more gold over the next few days.



The not as good thing, at least for a good number of us that like to buy things, is that the prices won’t necessarily drop as far as they would otherwise. However, considering that the prices for almost everything dropped a bit with the latest round of company changes, it could be worse.



P.S. I’m also going to hopefully be running for congress somewhere under some party, so look for a forthcoming platform. If you’ve got insider powers or something that can get me in somewhere (I did apply to run in a couple parties) that would be sweet and I’d probably think you’re pretty awesome.
