Heated Elections

Yesterday, the people of the eUS elected new members to represent them in Congress. This month’s election, however, seemed to carry more weight in the public eye than ones in the past. This was, no doubt, due to the recent tax increase that has played out in the past month. The primary anti-tax minority parties, BSP and SFP, have been making a strong push in the media to try to get more voters on their side.

This resulted in the SFP running their members on the BSP party ticket in order to maximize electoral results. They hope that the SFP base provides enough votes to BSP to swing their position to be the majority in Congress. However, these parties will still have to rely on the other parties to re-electing various anti-tax representatives as well. The results of this election will have a great impact on the economic climate of the eUSA.

The BSP/SFP joint ticket topped the electoral standings with 25.76% of voters, bringing in 15 congressmen for the two parties. The Feds followed behind with 13 representatives, with the USWP coming in 3rd with 11. The AMP and WTP both tied in representation, earning 9 congressmen a piece. Congratulations to all those elected to represent the citizens of this nation in Congress!

After Congress voted last month on a 94% tax hike, the weekly surplus of the eUS has jumped up by 104%, as the treasury takes in a weekly surplus of $685,000. Before the tax increase, the weekly surplus was around $335,000 every week. The upcoming debate/vote in Congress will once again reshape how the Executive and Congress thinks about wartime spending, while also impacting the major commune and heavy business players in our country.

Tune in to future WHPR’s for updates on this matter.

War Report

Let's take a quick look at what our allies are up to in today's edition of:

As Erepublik Turns

Looking to the south, we see a war raging between Argentina and Chile. Argentina has won eight of the eleven battles, and is about to attack. One can wonder what iteration this war is, and how long it will last. We shall keep a close eye on it as this latest edition continues to unfold. Chile is down to just two regions. I'm surprised they haven't conducted an airstrike and gotten the he** out of there, but whatever. Further up the Americas, Argentina is making their way through Mexico quite easily. They have won the first five battles and are easily winning their sixth. Guess we will have new southern neighbors soon. Hope they know how to keep the place looking nice.

Incidentally, Brazil looks to remove the Bosnia from South America. They are currently winning in Chuquisaca-and-Tarija. Let's see if they can irradicate Bosnia from SA. Cheers.

Now, we turn our gaze toward Europe.

Starting with the war between Finland and the Republic of Moldova, I'd submit to you its a great little training war. Finland conducted an airstrike fourteen days ago and they look like they are having a ton of fun. Keep it real guys. Finland appears to be continuing their training was with Estonia. Hope it continues to be fruitful. Latvia continues to help with the "training war." Estonia will be wiped soon, but I wonder is this anything new?

We move to Poland running through Germany. Poland has won eight battles and continues to move at will. Germany is down to five regions and I'd guess they will be wiped soon. Has this happened recently? I haven't really paid attention to Germany recent political and military moves. Feel free to throw in your two cents.

Our friends, Slovenia, are putting the hurtin to the United Kingdom. They have rolled over the UK in nine battles and look to continue until the job is done. The UK is down to two regions. God save the queen? I don't think so. Bye lads. Yesterday Belgium decided to jump in the fray an declare war on Slovenia. It looks like Slovenia will quickly and easily win the first battle.

A little to the south, Portugal has attacked Spain, continuing their long-standing feud over the past couple of years. It's cute when a country with a rank of 24 can continually beat up on one with a rank of 12. Enjoy my friends.

We see a beautiful war unfolding with Greece at the center. Bulgaria attacked and Greece secured the first battle. Greece looks to win in Ionian-Islands. You go boys. Greece was also able to secure against the Republic of Macedonia and has now won two battles in the war. They look to impress by winning both wars, simultaneously. 3>

Russia is doing great work in their world, as they are about to attack Belarus. Russia has won eight battles and looks to wipe Belarus, who is down to one region. It'll be done soon. At the same time, Russia managed to secure against Norway by winning the first battle in the war. Russia looks to win the second one, easily. March to victory comrades!

eNPR ELECTION EXTRAVAGANZA

Yesterday, being election day, eNPR was moved to make way for the eNPR ELECTION EXTRAVAGANZA, TONIGHT AT 10PM EST. However, BlogTalkRadio done f’d up again. As this has happened for the past two weeks, we will no longer be using BTR on a regular basis. Despite my love for the service’s tools, studio, and call-in features, it has become unreliable as of late. The subscription has been cancelled by Oblige, who owns the account, and donors will be refunded.

Moving forward, we will be using a combination of Mixlr and Skype for the remainder of the term. Since BTR messed everything up, the show was pretty much a jumbled mess as I was not prepared to switch to a different format. It really threw off my groove. However, those listening and those who called in had a pretty fun time! We were joined by PP’s and reps from all Top 6 parties represented on the Congressional ballots, getting their reactions and plans for the next month.

Hopefully, we’ll have a true debate lined up for you next time as we move into the final stretch of the term. Once more PotUS candidates announce, they will all be invited to a debate, complete with questions submitted by the general public. This should be an exciting event, listened to by all voters who will be wanting to hear the candidates positions on different topics and world events.

We hope you listen in!

Sincerely, Your Media Team:
Derphoof
