[UKPP] Update

Day 2,666, 19:17 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by CrispyDragon

Friends and fellow Partymen, I know this has been long over-due, but I have finally found the motivation to type up an update of my term so far.

This article, will be pretty straightforward and simple. I wish to talk about the food giveaway, our Party Logo, the group chats, Congress and finally the current situation we find ourselves in under Dictatorship.

As I am sure most of you know I ran a 1,000,000 Wellness Giveaway article early into my term. I am glad that many eUK'ers took advantage of the offer, but uptake was not on the level I had planned for. Not to be deterred or to have the gesture fizzle away I decided to donate the left-over food between the Airstrike Fund and the NHS.

This meant 282,500 wellness went to the Airstrike Fund and 282,500 Wellness went to the NHS!

The giveaway was a genuine pleasure to run and I was astounded by the generosity of the eUK. So many of those that posted wished for it to go to the NHS or the Airstrike fund and I was touched by each selfless gesture.

I do wish to do more giveaways in the future, however, they will most likely be more regular on a smaller scale.

Charity - it gives the World colour

A big part of the term was to bring Democracy and Participation back to the Party. This was no clearer than when we all had the opportunity to choose the UKPP Logo that best represented us.

The choice was between the Old Logo, the New one, or a third choice for something different.

Voting was left open for more than a week and everyone was encouraged to participate. We even had people outside of the Party weighing in with their opinions, which was great to see.

After tallying up the votes, the Party was clearly happy with the Old Logo, because if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Possibly the greatest logo in the whole of erepublik

Participation was a very important pillar I wanted to have in my term and I honestly believe the most successful way we increased participation was through the group-chats.

Every member, that accepted my friend request, was added to one of the Mass-Message chains as a method to give everyone a forum to converse with their fellow Party members, or voice something they wished addressed. It was also a place to plug Party Articles to ensure maximum exposure and to organise our ranks for vital elections.

Activity in these threads have waxed and waned, yet were used enough to justify their existence. I was also glad to see people took it as an opportunity to critise the direction the Party, or the Country was heading in, as well as questioning certain decisions made by leadership.

It is important to realise we don't always have to agree like mindless zombies, we are not TUP. We are The United Kingdom Progression Party and the best way to know if you're making progress is for someone to point out where you are going wrong.

I want to personally thank my detractors because you have made me a better Party President and I encourage you all to speak your minds. Especially when you do not agree with my decisions.

Congress was a roaring success and the proudest moment of my term so far. I was inundated with applications from new to old members, first time congressmen to seasoned veterans. I was literally spoilt by choice and this allowed us to field the best Congress Candidates out of the Top 5 Parties Combined.

Despite UKRP's baseless boasting, their list turned out to be another old-fag circle-jerk. Even their budding new member that was billed as a rising star was just propaganda on their part as he is an returning member of old. However, lets not be rude, we must respect our elders, even if they're better off in a home.

That being said they weren't the worst list either, TUP was busy spitting their dummy and throwing their toys out the pram that their best members didn't even apply for Congress, while WRP list was chosen by a notorious party-hog that has refused to relinquish power after 15 successive terms as Party President. Finally you had PCP's list, but I'll pay anyone 5 Q7 if they can name just one of them.

No matter which way you looked at it our list was better in every shape and form and that was evident when not only the UKPP, but people outside of out Party voted for us. We scored 11 out of our 12 target seats and this was despite TUP doing funny tings at 6am to rob WRP of a Congress seat.

We should all be proud of our Congress team and so far they have been serving us well. They are leading at the forefront on the current debate concerning Dictatorship and have presented both the pros and cons of both.

I have total faith they will continue to serve us and the eUK on the whole.

Be Better - Join The UKPP

Finally I wish to talk about the Dictatorship Module that has recently been implemented.

In short it is a rubbish game breaker. It had potential, but due to being so poorly executed it is a hot mess.

And that's exactly where we find ourselves as a Country, in a hot mess.

As your Party Leader, I have got myself involved in all Dictatorship talks way back when Dictatorship was first announced, right up and until today where we find ourselves under the benevolent Dictatorship of Waynekerr.

As much as it is nice to have an active and caring Dictator, it was never the intention of the Country for this to happen. Even before our self-inflicted coup I raised hesitations with the then Government about the validity and functionality of their plan.

Still, today I am not convinced Dictatorship is the best thing for our Country. The only ting I am certain on is not having a Dictator would be a bigger mistake. So we find ourselves in a bit of a catch-22.

However, this is the BEST time to have your voices heard, because people are listening. We are still trying to get to grips with this module and you can all help shape policy towards that.

We are well represented in the official Congress mails and the unofficial Dictatorship mails as well. I encourage all of you to get in contact with me, or any other Congressman to voice your opinion so we can pass it on.

Make a difference! Get involved!

That's it for today folks, expect another article tomorrow. As always, thank you all for taking the time to read my article. I appreciate it.

tl;dr?

1. Remaning food from giveaway passed to NHS and Airstrike fund.
2. Old logo is best, don't touch it again!
3. Mass-chat PM chains, get involved.
4. Congress, best list, best result!
5. Dictatorship, for or against? Voice your opinion!
