[UKPP] Expectation

Day 2,651, 15:29 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by CrispyDragon

Expectation is a funny word. To have, to miss, to meet. Expectation. It encourages us, emboldens us and chastises us.

Today I want to talk to you about my expectations. Specifically, my expectation for Congress.

First and foremost, I just want to say that everyone has exceeded my expectation in regards to Congress applications. As of today we have 19 aspiring Candidates, including myself.

This is by far the most Candidates out of all the Top 5!

I want to thank all of you that have applied, especially those that took the time to message me personally with why you would make a sterling UKPP Congressman.

To the rest of the Party, there is still time to apply if you think you have what it takes to be a Congressman. You have the rest of today and the whole of tomorrow. I will consider all applications up to the 24th of February.

With so many talented and good-looking people running, it is only right and proper we get out as a Party, vote en-mass and elect as many UKPP'ers as game mechanics allow.

We definitely will attain 8 Congress Seats, should comfortably get 10, and if we are active, organised and motivated, could potentially achieve 12 seats.

My expectation of you all is to vote on the 25th. Vote early and encourage everyone else to vote UKPP, too.

We have 100 members, there are many more not in a Political Party and others out there that can be swayed to our way of life. I expect you all to do your best to get them voting the only sensible choice.

Shouts on the Party and Friends Feed. Shouts in IRC. Articles. Mass Messages. Heck if you know someone in real life I expect you to pick up that damn phone, put on a sexy Babestation voice and convince them to vote UKPP.

This is the expectation for everyone.

If we can do this, we can make our expectations a reality!

Looking past the Congress Elections, we will have some UKPP Congressmen, that is a given. Yet, what will be the expectation of them?

Well, I am a UKPP Party President so I fully understand the limitation of my role. I accept that I cannot control my Congressmen when they get into Congress. If they have the buttons they are free to use them. Sure, anyone that is disastrous can be blacklisted for future elections, but that will be down to my successors agreeing with my condemnation.

However, accepting game mechanics does not mean we cannot have expectations to aspire towards.

The first one is simply to put Party and Country first (it is possible to do both simultaneously) and be sensible in your decisions.

Other than that, as a Party we have long held polices that, believe it or not, are still current today.

1. Taxes: Keep VAT, Income and Work Tax low. Import Tax high.

2. Minimum Wage: Keep it at the absolute minimum.

3. Donations: For Country wide schemes or MM is fine. Donations for Private MU's or exclusive schemes, are not.

4. Natural Enemy: Don't vote or support NE unless to retrieve our lands, or we're seizing some.

5. Citizenship: Your passes are yours to use. It is greatly encouraged to seek guidance from your peers before using them.

6. Impeachment: Only initiate, or vote yes if, CP is inactive, stealing from the nation, or they requested it.

For more detail, please check out the UKPP Wiki.

To help guide our Congressmen and make sure they are living up to the expectation of the Party, Ser Fartsalot has taken up the mantle of Party Councillor.

His role will be the go between of our Congressmen and our Party members. If the expectation of the Party changes, Ser Fartsalot will communicate that shift to the Congressmen.

I welcome him on board, and thank him for taking on yet another responsibility.

Now, this article is far too long, on wards to the Congress Elections!!

tl;dr?

1. Expectations are important.
2. Still time to apply for Congress.
3. We must all do our part to get people voting UKPP.
4. Congressmen uphold these policies: CLICK.
5. Ser Fartsalot is UKPP Party Councillor.
