[Snow] A Profile

Day 2,523, 06:56 Published in USA USA by Astraeus II

World,

A few days ago I moved to Canada to begin a thorough research of a material called snow. Since I only arrived recently a full profile cannot be developed and it is to be expected that some of its characteristics are obscured. Although it is my full intent to discover the full power of this material, I will start by giving some of the first observable characteristics.

Color
Although snow generally presents with a white appearance it is within the capacity of snow to absorb other materials. Often this leads to a darker color which can best be described of as a black, seared appearance. Deep blues also develop from underlying ice which is a by product of snow.

Reflection
Snow itself is reflective by nature. It seems as if the material tries to obscure its true nature by reflecting sunlight. This is not to suggest that snow itself is a living being, but this is simply the best way to describe its reflective qualities.

Insulation/Temperature
This white reflective material is cold by nature. Leaving snow on the skin leaves the flesh reddened, and if left long enough will result in a numb or tingling feeling. Being unfamiliar with this sensation I asked locals and discovered that snow can destroy the body, leaving limbs damaged if exposed for too long.

Summary
My unfamiliarity with the material snow seems to be an uncommon thing among people to the north. They live beside this material for large parts of the year and if located far enough north it resides all year long. The locals have more information about the material kept in some of their great libraries. In the next few days I plan to examine more of these reading materials and supplement it with first hand observations.

For those of you who like me have been unfamiliar with the substance, I wanted to share a picture I obtained with you of snow.

Until next time,
