[SFPress]Interview with Ghost of Tom Joad

Day 2,668, 01:21 Published in USA USA by MaryamQ

The next in our series of interviews with SFP members is Ghost of Tom Joad, 5 times past PP of SFP, past CP candidate (16.49% of the vote, the highest in SFP history), and a driving force behind our Writers’ Guild, as well as being a voting member of the Revolutionary Committee and current Secretary General and Treasurer for the party. When this series of interviews was proposed, he very kindly offered to be a part of it.

You are a long time member of SFP, and a 5-time PP. What brought you to SFP, and what has kept you here?

Literature and Arts are what got me here. A lot of talented people have come and gone through this party.
I stayed here because I don't have to jump through any hoops. I've accomplished my personal goals (one of which is being Party President).

Your nick appears to be derived from this song. Can you tell us how you chose it? What else can you share with us about who Ghost of Tom Joad really is?

I was at a Nickelback and 3 Doors Down concert on the previous night. Nickelback stole the show with that song.
I've always been an eUs Citizen.

Your interest in the media part of the game is clear. You are the one who formed our present Writers’ Guild, and you are making constant efforts to improve your own writing and help others improve theirs. What writers have influenced you?

The most influential writer in-game, is PQ, and Joe DaSmoe is second. Lysander Spooner was very influential. He bought my paper and paid me to write for Libertad. Before that, I wasn't sure anyone would read it.

Where do you see yourself going in this game? What would you like to do that you haven’t done, and do you have a plan to achieve that?

I would like to win a media mogul award. The only plan is to keep writing.
I believe that I've made it as far, politically, as I can, but I would like to see SFP make it to the top #5. As far as a plan; I was planning to ask everyone, nicely.

Do you have any advice you’d like to share with our younger readers?

I've been playing for three years and I still believe that change is possible. Do what you feel like doing. If your party wants to set you up with a dead-end job or just ignores you, you need to move on.
