{RSU} June CP Nomination/Endorsement

Day 3,116, 21:18 Published in Australia Thailand by Revolutionary Socialist Union

Greetings eAustralia,

As you are all aware, the June Country President elections are coming up. After looking into the candidates that were proposed by other parties, the RSU has decided to go with one of it's own members.

Selection Process

At the time of discussing our options for a CP Candidate, the RSU, looked at the other parties choices, to see if any of them warranted the official endorsement of the RSU.

The ADP had put forward the current serving CP gudzwabofer, however he made it clear in the congress threads that "As for running for CP, I hadn't planned to run again, and my name was put forward without discussion with me, so I assume I am there as a default because the ADP hasn't found someone else to endorse yet..." so the RSU never followed up on a candidate who wasn't involved in his own parties endorsement.

This left the ARP candidate mzCielly as a potential nominee for the RSU. However after the RSU tried to contact the ARP party president in regards to their candidate, we never got a reply, the RSU looked internally at who it could put forward for the June CP elections.

What we looked for

Inside our Party message thread, the RSU highlighted the main aspects of a candidate that we wanted to run on our ticket. The party members all agreed that the upcoming term will be a difficult one, both with the game mechanics changes to Taxes, Governance and fall out from the Resource War. The RSU knew it needed a strong figure head to lead a diverse cabinet to tackle these upcoming issues.

After a few names were put forward from the party ranks, the senior party faithful voted to have the RSU nominate Rusty D for June CP.

The RSU believe that his proven leadership, international connections and a policy that fits the RSU ideals, would be good for eAustralia, in seeing it into this new age of eRepublik.

We at the RSU have been ensured by Rusty D that his cabinet will be made up of different political party members and will work on trying to ensure the safety and security of eAustralia.

The RSU is hoping this sort of article helps bring transparency to the eAustralian political process. While complete internal discussions can not be aired 'publicly', we hope that we can find a balance in presenting the way the RSU functions and discusses policies, candidates, laws etc so you the general public can be kept well informed and know that nothing untoward is happening.

And as per normal, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them.
