[Presidential Address] The First Day, The Reich, and Taxes.

Canada asked for war and we have given you victory! Your government is hard at work making sure we win every battle available, but in order to keep delivering victories we need everyone to make sacrifices for our new empire. You asked us for war now we ask you for money.
In order to win wars we need money for tanks (for Mercenary damage) and for COs. Up until now Canada has enjoyed relatively low taxes because many of our citizens who are better off have been willing to fund these wars. I myself have put together just shy of one million cc for this war, Rylde has several hundred thousand for war as well, but we can't be expected to foot the bill for every war Canada wants. It's not reasonable nor realistic. Canadians must be willing to make sacrifices in order to fuel the war machine.
I'm asking all Canadians to donate any cc or tanks you can spare for the war effort, and I'm asking Congress to raise taxes. Higher taxes are the only way we can sustain building the empire our great nation deserves. With higher taxes we will be able to sustain our lust for battle and we will continue to win on the battlefield.
Yesterday, we had a lot going on, we saw our first major victory against Germany and begun our second major victory. Today we opened a RW in order to ensure our enemy could not. We have a well thought out plan, and we have the will to win.
I would like to thank all our friends and allies for their support, without you, none of this would be possible. Our victories are your victories. You're not just our allies, you're our brothers and we salute you.
As you can see I have replaced the Canadian Coat of Arms with a new flag. This flag represents the best of eCanadian culture; our will, our might, and most of all our desire for victory. We Canadians are a proud and determined people, and I believe the new Canadian Reich and our new flag are representative of the will and determination of our people. The Reich will defeat our enemies and bring glory to eCanada and our friends.

You (might) have that backwards. First you said you weren't going to spend any money more money for Canada, instead spending it trying to become a dictator elsewhere. Then people said that that demonstrated that you were only interested in yourself rather than the country.
Actually, I forgot the real first part - first you said you were going to spend money on Canada before saying you weren't going to be spending it on Canada after all (after Canada said in a referendum that it didn't want you to spend your money in that way).
I still don't see how this interpretation of events is wrong. You're free to do what you want with your money - just don't claim to be doing it for the greater glory of Canada when your money has strings - like dictatorship medals - attached. That was the point I was trying to make back then.
Unless the people you're talking about aren't me and are actually saying what you said you were saying, in which case, sure. Otherwise, you're making your point for me - again.
You have misread what I've said above. I've done exactly what I said I would do. While I have fought for Canada recently I spent precious little of my "stash". I will admit that I used about 10 x2 EBs in one battle but Canada lost that eventually so it was inconsequential.
I don't give a crap about you or what you've said about me. I've tried to speak with you but you refuse to attempt to comprehend what I'm saying. I'm not wasting any more time trying to help you understand my point.
The word "people" is plural. Do you have a multiple personality disorder? Maybe you are self important and believe that everything said by me is about you?
If you haven't noticed, I did make an attempt at dictator elsewhere. It got botched and now I'm waiting for situations in RL to clear up so that I can have the time to mess with it again. I'm still sitting in my Macedonian MU biding my time, sitting on my pile that I've accumulated over the years. Being it is for my personal enjoyment I may even spend a little to make that pile bigger, I've not made my mind up on that yet.
One last tidbit for you to chew on. I've been helping Canadian friends lately without spending my stuff. I was Xichael's PM and am adviser for Dennis. Evidently my wallet was not my key to popularity.
Alright, let's not get into this again (unless you want to - then I'm game).
If you say that a foreign coup was always part of the plan, so be it. I know your main goal was to go out with a bang so sure, that fits.
As for your participation in government (even if it was a boring one and even if you were only active behind the scenes), that's certainly a better claim to fame, in my opinion, than paying for a war - although that is appreciated, too.

First let me congratulate you for achieving the near impossible. 🙂 I'm writing an article to help explain what your concern is about. The following is an excerpt of the rough draft.
Keep in mind we have choices to make. I've made my choice. My commune is gone, I no longer make over a hundred of Q7s per day for free that was given to my workers and used by me. Now I have to pay for what I use. I also don't have thousands of cc to 'donate' for CO and MPPs. My daily damage is limited to 25m or less.
Others may do as they like but I don't feel compelled to spend hundreds of RL dollars here anymore. Those who've never spent (or spend very little) money to play erep need to understand that war is not cheap. A choice must be made. Someone has to pay the bills. If we are not to spend RL money then that only leaves cc that the game provides, in other words tax revenue.
Donations through fund raisers are great and it gives folks a chance to get involved, to feel like they are part of what's going on. The problem is that without gold buyers the results will be radically reduced, sporadic and short lived.
I already pay close to 2k a month in taxes. You all have to make sure that production remains viable to those who are contributing economically because if it becomes inefficient, we close production and your tax collected will go down.

Let me ask you a question, do you play the game as a team member or just for your own benefit?. I promise you that erep is not a game of solitaire. If you are playing without interacting you're missing the whole point.
As a group Canada needs to decide what to do. Either we raise taxes when there is a war on or we don't start any wars. We would fight for our allies but there would be no crusade to go on.
You pick. I don't want to see anyone leave but that is always your option.
First, "You all" are the politicians.
Second, I have done more for Canada and its allies before you were even e-born than most could imagine so I don't need to be lectured on being a team player. I don't do politics because most of them have completely messed up the community.
Third, Read what I said. There has to be a balance between what Canada needs to tax, and those that produce. Why would anyone produce to lose cash? Well except all those who produce low value weapons at a loss which still confounds me.
Fourth, I said nothing of leaving the game. Stop talking out of your ass.
Fine, whatever you say. Shut down wars and then you can sell your produce in some other country that still has them I suppose.
