[POTUS] Incoming Trials

Day 2,485, 17:06 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

Greetings eAmerica! We are three days in and it is time for an update on my administration and what we are doing. One thing I learned as a Party President is that nothing ever goes exactly according to plan. Civil Anarchy, my Chief of Staff had to step away from the game due to RL circumstances. As he had been the Interior Secretary and an integral part of the creation of the Save eRepublik Initiative, I had planned on him being a major guiding force in directing the Domestic Agenda this month. Derphoof has graciously agreed to step in for Civil Anarchy. In addition to this Delyruin will be Deputy Chief of Staff and his primary focus will be on working with the Domestic Departments. So with a slight reshuffle of the deck we are hopefully up and running.

On a more serious note you may have noticed that we have 4 RWs opened against us in each of our colonies. This is the downside of full bonuses achieved through so many different other nations. We are vulnerable to damage drains. Defending against them take coordination and well placed CO funds. Under normal circumstances I would view this as a strong test during my first week. However, over the next few days a stronger test is coming. It is rumored that this is just an opening salvo. We are expecting to see some airstrikes that will be timed to coincide with the anniversary of 9/11. To those who would use this digital world as a platform to mock the events of this world changing tragedy I offer you my congratulations.

One of the great draws for me personally to this game is the diverse community. The eUSA is not just a collection of RL like minded americans. The Americans we have in the eUSA are from all across the nation, hold many different religious/political beliefs, and have very different racial backgrounds. We also have people from all over the globe that choose to make the eUSA their digital home. Wild Owl one of my absolute best friends in this game is a Pakistani Brit. Just off the top of my head, I have made friends and worked with people from Albania, Croatia , Canada, Portugal, Ukraine, Germany, India and the UK. There are few other games that give you such an opportunity to interact with people from around this all too fractured globe of ours. To me that alone makes this game not just worth playing but worth saving.

This is a war game. Shifting alliances, the ebb and flow of power, and the changing player base have produced many wars. In 2009 the idea of even an indifferent relationship with Canada while holding an MPP with Indonesia, Russia, and the UK would have been ridiculed. Yet here we are. Things change former enemies become friends and former friends drift apart. While the sentimental among us might regret the defunct Brolliance, and other similar Bromances (Brazil) that have crumbled over time, such is the way of eRepublik.

However, what I call truly dastardly is the coinciding of an attack on a digital nation with the anniversary of a RL tragedy. There is much in RL that is regrettable. Wars, terrorism, genocide, plagues, famine, etc. I’d wager that there is not an existing (or vanished) nation on earth that has not suffered tragedy. Basic human decency demands that using such events against a group of people be eschewed. Unfortunately decency escapes some. So….

All we can do is be ready. I would ask the citizens of the eUSA and our allies to be ready to expel any Airstrikes or other attacks that come our way. We must coordinate, not over hit, and be smart with our fights. Let us stand strong as a diverse community united in a common cause. If we allow ourselves to see it we are more alike than different. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you the people of the eUSA for electing me. This will be an intense week, but we can make it through together. It is my belief that at the end of the week we will be stronger for having fought side by side and persevered. Let us show the eWorld that the eUSA is no easy target.

It would seem that Thailand and the Philippines have requested an ass kicking. Let's accommodate our uninvited visitors!
