[PotUS] Defense & Gaming Nights

Day 3,188, 10:50 Published in USA USA by ResouIa

It's been a very chaotic first week here in the black house. A lot more than I initially expected. I am happy to announce that Mayhem Month has kicked off with its first two competitions. This competitions see their final day tomorrow and the next two will begin this Sunday! The Sky Hero Competition will be replaced by a fighting competition that literally even the newest of players could take part in and the writing contest will see a change in themes for more long-winded writing than six words. Make sure to get in any submissions before the end of Saturday if you want to take part in this week's competitions.

Thank you to everyone that has taken part so far. I hope you enjoy what is to come. Skip down to the "Gaming Nights" section of this article to see another opportunity for you to win prizes as a part of Mayhem Month.
Defense-NSC Merger

Let's face the facts. Keeping NSC and Defense split is pointless. You take the same job, split it in two, and give one half to each person. Merge it all together and you have a much more efficient system. One of the biggest gripes I had with the split is how the duties were split. It was just done very inefficiently. NSC had its perks during Resource Wars and other major events that require a united group of people running battles, but having multiple Co-Secretaries could easily accomplish the same task without leaving the SoD's so bare.

As it stands now, Henryfrench and Arrden are now Co-Secretaries of Defense and we have already set up a system more efficient than any I've seen in months. NSC is now gone and the Department of Defense will step up to fill its shoes. Whether or not my successor to the CP seat will continue with this change or reinstate the inefficient system of splitting defense in two is unknown to me, but I do urge whoever does succeed me to keep this change in place.

You may already notice the changes from the previous terms. The paper is being consistently updated and has found its way to the T5 (T1 now) articles. Orders are being updated several times per day and our defense team actively sits in #Defense on IRC to keep communication with anyone that seeks it. I hope you all will appreciate the increase in productivity that this change will result in as much as I do.

Side Note: While we are on the topic of cabinet changes, I'd just like to announce one more slight change. Inwegen is now my new Chief of Staff. He has already impressed in his position as dCoS in my cabinet and I am sure he will do an amazing job in the big chair, which he is no stranger to.
Gaming Nights

This is something I really wanted to get started by this weekend, but as I have stated before it has been a chaotic week. I also won't be able to host it next weekend so our first gaming night will take place some time this upcoming week at a friendly time for those that work during the week.

So what are gaming nights? Pretty simple actually. One night per week we will get together and play Cards Against Humanity online. Everyone is invited and participants will be competing for prizes of up to 10k cc.

A time and a date will have to be decided for the upcoming week. As I said I am limited to the weekdays hosting this. If you are interested, please answer this multiple choice strawpoll stating every time/day you are good, or let me know in the comments. http://www.strawpoll.me/10976815

After next week Gaming Nights will be moved to the weekend days so we can get as many persons involved as possible. After a time/date is decided for the first game, an article will be published announcing it.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Month of Mayhem so far. This is still the beginning so there are many more events coming and many more prizes to be won!
