I Am Charlie

That is the message of solidarity that has gone out among French citizens and across the world. The UK and France has spent many years in this game at war with one another trying to ensure the other remains wiped, or weakened.

Yet when faced with a tragedy such as what happened today at the Charlie Hebdo office we choose to stand in solidarity with our friends across the Channel. The eUK expresses its condolences, sympathies and deepest regrets to the people of France. Having been victims of tragedy in the past, we can share in your pain.



As many of you will know, 3 gunmen shot dead 12 French people, including 10 civilians and 2 Police Officers - 8 of whom were Journalists, cartoonists and magazine editors. This tragedy occurred in that great city, Paris.

While we may be enemies in this game, while we may mock, troll and fight with each other I hope that this does not prevent us from coming together in the face of such tragedy. To standing in solidarity with the people of France. To putting behind us petty hatred.

France, the UK stands with you in this time of grief and sadness.
