HOLY MOTHER OF GOD IS THAT BELGIUM?!



Why yes. Yes it is. And I’m glad you asked about it kids, because now, I will tell you why brave little Belgium is back playing in the park (in a manner of speaking). But before I start, it seems reasonable to say why it’s relatively shocking to see the Belgians back in the world, and why they have been occupied by so many countries throughout history. By the by, forgive me if this isn't 100% accurate, I am tired ;_;

Belgium and the UK

That is right, the first country that occupied Belgium was us, here in the UK, which came into full effect on the 13th April 2008. But, in truth it wasn’t really an occupation, but rather a merger. Upon the release of the war module in eRepublik Beta the Belgians declared war on the United Kingdom which soon conquered the Belgian regions with the help of their MPPs which the Belgians had activated.

The UK called this an official annexation, which was agreed upon by both governments, however some in Belgium didn’t actually believe this due to a lack of official statement from the Belgian government. However, the majority of Belgians accepted it and become an integral part of the United Kingdom. Laws were set up to protect Belgian interests, they had their own branch of the paratroopers and Belgians even went on to become part of the Government. Indeed, some Belgians remained in the UK even after the split and stayed as some of our most treasured citizens with the majority of them still serving in our Special Forces.

Belgium and France

When ATLANTIS invaded France as part of Operation French Toast the UK got heavily involved, attacking and assisting its allies in their battles too. However, once more of PEACE got involved the UK began facing more and more problems. Mainly, France was beginning to win the war and push the invaders out.

France reclaimed all its original territories that it had lost soon after from the Spanish, the Canadians, the Americans and us. It then decided to move on the UK-occupied Belgium, conquering our regions and giving them back to a newly independent Belgium nation. A new merger wasn’t arranged with the UK so the Belgians stayed independent.

Belgium and the Netherlands

The Belgians were not independent once again, however, it was not long before they faced another problem, which threatened their little nation. This problem was the threat of a Political Takeover from Spanish citizens.

In the congressional elections of March 2009, the Spanish PTOers gained a majority of congress, and in order not to lose the Belgian Presidency to a Spaniard, the Belgian President CreveRoeland decided to arrange a merger with the Netherlands. The merger was supported with a great majority and soon after the two countries merged, creating the United Netherlands that stood until earlier today.

Belgium and EDEN

Wait… Holdz on one minuten here boys. I thought you said how Belgium was now an independent country?



You are correct, technically Belgium has borders again. However, it is not free from foreign occupation. You see, a Romanian, who won the war with help from EDEN nations across the world, along with the US, who seemed to tag along for the ride, started the resistance war.

The EDEN forces then used the literally ten minutes gap to create a political party and have members run for congress. Quite sneaky, eh? Fortunately, PEACE ATO forces were ready for this and a range of UK, French and Dutch ATO teams rushed into Belgium to beat back EDEN. Now, some of you will ask how this PEACE ATO is not just a PTO? Simple. We are doing it to protect Belgium. EDEN are doing this to block PEACE and cause a general crap load of problems by having a puppet state in the heart of Europe.

The true eBelgians support what PEACE is doing. The main UK owned Belgian party has several eBelgians and ex-eBelgians supporting it. The eBelgians aren’t ready yet for independence, or else negotiations would have occurred with the Dutch government. As can be found from asking the population, the Belgians do not want independence yet.

However, if they do, PEACE will provide them with it. Whether EDEN will is something I don’t know. But I honestly wouldn’t bet on it.
