[MKD-HUN] Best friends make the worst enemies

Greetings my beloved Macedonians!

If you follow the international news, you can see that the world is changing rapidly nowadays.
- Croatia and Adriatica is on the right way to unite the anti-Asteria forces and become a powerful alliance,
- Asteria is shakier by the day, as Argentina is just a a few steps away from leaving the alliance,
- Greece joined Pacifica and Poland is about to follow them. With that, they’ll become a real power in the game.

And as you might also have seen, Hungary will have an MPP with Greece.


I know how you feel at the moment.

You feel anger.
You feel that you are betrayed.
How could they do a step like that? I thought Hungary was our friends…. Don’t they know what Greece means to us? Don’t they care about their friends?


I know what Greece means to you. As a Hungarian player, I understand your feelings better than you’d imagine. I know how to despise a country. Romania means the exact same thing to me, what Greece means to you.

You can’t really describe this kind of resentment. It’s not like when you detest an actual person, it’s different from that. It’s not like xenophobia either. I don’t actually have problems with any single Romanian person, but I still dislike them as a nation.

So what is this feeling then?
At times it feels easy to explain, yet it’s still tough to put it into words. However, I’m sure that if you read this as a Macedonian player, you know exactly what I mean.



You might ask now, so how do these things help to me? I still can’t believe you did this.

Well, it doesn’t help. What is done is done. We will have an MPP with Greece, and we will let go of the Macedonian one. And I’m not here to explain ourselves, I’m not here to apologize either. I’m only writing this article because you are my friends, and you deserve much more than just a few letters to your government members and an article with official cliches.

Why are we doing this? It might sound weird, but we are doing this because we care about friends. We don’t have too many real old friends in this game, we have Serbia, Poland, Macedonia and Indonesia, and now it seems like that Poland goes to Pacifica, Serbia is in Asteria, and you and Indonesia are on the other side.

We knew that when the world changes so fast, we can’t remain neutral anymore, because that way no one could trust us after a while and we’d lose all of our friends. That would lead us in the exact same position where we were in October, 2014. We lost our capital then, because we tried to sit on two chairs, and we fell between them.

So we had 3 options: Asteria, Pacifica, or change side completely.
We had to choose. And that choice wasn't only about alliances. Mainly it was about friends. We knew that any way we choose, we might lose everyone else and it wasn’t an easy decision; probably one of the hardest ones we have ever made, but we made it and we will remain loyal to it.




So what comes next?
It’s hard to tell.

I hope you understand our points. I hope that after a little time, you think through our situation and you understand that it wasn’t against you and I hope that we will not need to fight against each other. I hope that we won’t become enemies. Because as the title says, best friends make the worst enemies.

I hope I’m not the only one who don’t want that.
