[MAP] Media Awareness Project [Re-envisioned]

Day 2,783, 04:26 Published in Germany Croatia by Nathan Maximillian Stark

Greetings, comrades.
In the light of my previous article, I've decided to try and do something about the increased inactivity in our local (as well as global) media. With that goal in mind, I've come up with an idea for a project: MAP – Media Awareness Project (I'm terrible at naming, I know). This is a project which I hope will bring some life into the media module, and encourage players to write more articles. Hopefully.

What does this project consist of? By filling out this short form, you become a part of the project. On this spreadsheet, you can see all citizens who applied and, as soon as you fill out the form, your name will appear there too. So, what do you have to do? Simply write whatever you want about eRepublik. You could write an analysis of current wars or political sitution in the eWorld, a financial report, an article about a country of your choice, an interview... The possibilities are endless.

Now, you might be wondering: "What do I gain by writing these articles? Where's my incentive?" And you're absolutely right. For that reason, every week the three best articles will be chosen and rewarded appropriately. Of course, with me being a fairly 'weak' and poor player, I wouldn't be able manage that aspect all by myself, and I would require support from other citizens. I envisaged the rewarding to work as following: every week, there will be a 'reward fund', which will be filled up by your CC donations (and I'll add some money of my own, as well). The collected amount will be distributed like this: 50% to the first place, 30% to the second place, and 20% to the third place. I will keep track of all donations on this donation spreadsheet, and I promise that, in the case this project fails (due to lack of interest or other causes), I will REFUND all CC to their respective owners. The spreadsheet will be updated regularly, so if you notice any irregularities or missing CC, you can report it to me (or report ME, in case I steal your CC).

The main aims of this project are:

1. to help citizens promote their newspapers.
2. to encourage people to write more and to 'awaken' the media module.
I hope that this project will encourage citizens to participate more actively in our community, by writing articles about topics they find interesting. Apart from that, with this project I'm also trying to attract some attention to the media module, which many regard as a 'less important aspect of eRepublik'.
3. to give myself a sense of accomplishment by doing something for the community. I want to feel like I'm doing something important for our society. And they won't let me be the president. :/

Why am I asking for your help and donations? Because I want this to be a community project and I want your involvement. By donating, you show your support for the project, as well as the media module. By participating in this initative, you show that you want to READ new, interesting articles and CARE about the media module. By endorsing this campaign, you show that you want to LIVEN UP our community.
Will the MAP actually work? I don't know.
Will I keep trying to make a positive impact on our community? You bet!
Well, in case the MAP fails, I guess I'll know that the media module in eGermany is beyond repair.

If you liked the article vote, endorse, subscribe, comment or shout. If you didn't, diplomatically explain in the comment section why I suck ('too many textz' is not an answer). If you have any suggestions or opinions about the MAP, feel free to share them with me via the comment section or PM. Remember, sharing is caring.

PS. In the previous article, I promised a symbolic reward of 1 gold to a random commenter below level 30. The lucky winner is Vallador. Enjoy your golden bar.
Until next time! May the Outsider watch over you.
