[ImmigrationCouncil] eCanadian Government needs you! [Day 2413]
MCMXCIlI
Greetings fellow eCanucks,
Over the course of the past few weeks, our honourable congress has been working on a little bit of immigration reform. Said reform has been discussed and voted on, and has been passed through congress. The only thing left to do is implement it.
The council will work together to ensure that any individual who is seeking citizenship has met certain criteria, and is not a threat to our country. The job of council members is to research and perform background checks on all applicants.
Here's where you come in. We are currently seeking members to fill the vacancies within the council. Here are the criteria:
1. The appointee must be a Canadian citizen.
2. The appointee does not have to be a member of Congress.
3. The appointee will be a lifetime member of the council with three standard forms of release (which can be found, along with a detailed outline of the council's structure, here)
If you feel like you are interested in becoming a member of the Immigration Council, please
As always eCanada, Stay Frosty. o7

We need good people to keep good people coming in.
Huzzah for eAmerican-style elitism! Huzzah for artificial restrictions! Huzzah for groupthink!

huzzah for Xander the irrelevant
Lol... been waiting to lob that one back at me for some time, I imagine. Just like your good pal McVicker - take something MDP said, wait a week and say it back like it's your own idea.
Good for you, lad!
Dude, despite your lack of interest in the program, there was clearly enough interest for it to pass through congress.
Huzzah for democracy.
Pass through, get pushed through.... same difference, right?
6 in 1 hand, 1/2 dozen in the other.

lol, this is a clusterf*ck waiting to happen, and most of the people in that thread seem to know it to some degree.
It's a good idea on paper, but this is not the best way to make work in practice...this gonna be like when eCanada tried to have a supreme court.
Can't the president still steal all the money from the treasury whenever they want? I'd think leaving immigration to their ministers wiould still be less concerning, if one is afraid of monthly power abuses.
And who were you in your prior eLife?
~hyuu~
I prefer the guidelines over the immigration council.
I'll do it I guess
I'll do it, but I have a question. If I want to leave the council, can I just ask and I'll be removed?
Indeed, along with prior notice, you can opt out at any time.
This will eventually fail, like all previous attempts at immigration 'reform'. The game mechanics allow congressmen to let anyone they see fit into the nation. Until this changes, the reform will fail.

My proposed revised legislation, if passed, will cover rogue proposals..
I'm willing to do this.
