Congressional Lineup April 2014

Gentlemen, and even the Ladies, I introduce to you erepublik's first: eBachelorette Contest.

We all know Plato tries hard to entice us with new adventures, missions and weapons of mass destruction to assuage our naturalistic destructive wants and needs.  He even tried to romanticize Valentine's Day by hooking us up with cupid.  But what happened in the end?  WE KILLED CUPID.  What's with all the hostility?  Where is the love?

Find out more about this game here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/2394211/1/20

The Writing Contest has been extended!  See details below.

Yes.  And I have gold to award people.  I will award gold for all quality articles that are published on your own newspaper and they have to be a minimum of 1000 words on the departments and its department heads.

Also, they have to be fairly serious and informative articles about the departments.  Why?  Because I HAVE GOLD TO AWARD.

How will the awards go?  Well, instead of just rewarding 3 writers like most contests do I will be awarding gold per amount of writers and how they place.

If there are 10 article submissions, then 1st place will get 10 gold, 2nd place 9 gold, 3rd place 8 gold, 4th place 7 gold, etc.   (Even if you place last you win gold!)

The rules:

Maximum 15 writers sign up here on this thread.

The articles must be a minimum 1000 words about any Fed departments.

The pieces can be written in just about any form like a 1st person story, a poem, an essay, a song, fiction (the department facts have to be true)... However you like to write articles.

You must be a Federalist and be registered on this forum for a minimum of 7 days. (Fed FBI will follow up, thanks Blondie! 🙂 )

Write them on google docs and submit to me or on the Fed Forum here: http://fedparty.forumotion.com/t4903-april-2014-fed-writing-contest

Lets keep it going!!!

All articles will be judged by me and a special guest.  All submissions must be submitted to me via PM here on the forum OR in game by Saturday night 11:59 PST.  Any attempts to defraud the contest or submit sh*t articles will be ignored.  The top 2 submissions will be featured in the FPR on Sunday 27th, 2014

GO GO GO!

Greetings you Proud and Horny peeps! As you are undoubtedly aware there is a tournament going on. I am here to help you understand how best to benefit from it.

Being Trekker Tlumac, I am awesome. But even I have some, erm, power issues from time to time. To be quite frank, at 43,000 strength I am about half the strength of the top strength D4 guys. Even the more mild strength D4 guys have a good 20K strength on me.  Do I let my battle inadequacies get me down? I would not be the awesomest Trekker you know if I did. I analyze things, I think up strategies, and I make my damage count. So over the last year or so of tourneys I have paid attention and made plans. I am here today to share the strategy that I think will work best in this particular round.

First let me say that this tournament is crap for just about everyone except the D4 gold buyers. The rewards are mediocre at best. And the requirements at the higher end of the missions are ludicrous. But if you are an idiot like me, you may just want to plow on anyway… Let me help you with that.

I started this article a few hours into the tourney and am finishing it up the next day, I waited until I finished the missions. There are already people that have beaten it and written out good reviews of it. I have included some literature about it at the end.

For now, let us discuss the best way to maximize your impact here. The second to last mission requires hitting 10,000 prestige points for the week. That means if you are going to beat the missions you are going to need to use EBs and plan to use ffs strategically.

Let’s say that you are getting the max recovery of 40/6minutes, you do nothing but fight, and you use every single drop of potential energy. That will get you something like 67000 energy over the course of the 7 days. Or 6700 hits a week. So already you are 300 energy bars down. Some of this negative energy will be made up from the perk of this tourney, the carrots. For every 25 kills that you get, you get to beat up some slow Bunny fighter reject and win a carrot. Anyone that fought around Christmas time will recognize the concept. The carrots are essentially a rip off of the candies, equal half an energy bar, and are not great but better than nothing.

And as they are the only help we get energy wise in this tourney from Plato, because do not expect any EBs from the PP rewards. I think there is like 15 total before you get to 14K+ prestige? So not exactly stellar.

So your best bet is to have a crap ton of EBs handy and use bazookas to maximize the kill to energy ratio so you get the most carrots possible.

I happened to have had 700 EBs saved up from the past few weeks of two clicking through 5-6K prestige a week, so that is what I used. Using the EBs, carrots, FFs I was able to complete all the objectives in about 22 hours, with nothing left over.

It took all of 6500 kills to complete the missions, something the average player will not be able to do in one day. Nor do I advise it, my finger is still sore from all the clicking.

One of the other things to look for is the kill requirements. They are not too bad for any tank, but they are still several hundred kills that will take time. So be aware of that. Also a little note on the resistance wars, the best bet is to fight in favor of the resistance. For some reason none of mine counted until I fought for the resistance.

Bottom line on success:
1) EBs, and lots of them.
2) Even if you use all possible energy, you still need 300+ EBs
3) Watch to use your energy for kills where needed to complete objectives.
4) Have fun you crazy bastard, I certainly did.

So basic bullet points on this in review tourney:
1) Only good for D4
2) Only good for D4 with a crap ton of gold or EBs
3) Not really worth the time for anyone in the lower divisions
4) In case it hasn’t sunk in, D4 only!
5) Aside from bragging rights and the pretty swanky medal, you get nothing.
6) Oh, you do get a lot of small bombs and rockets, I guess that was cool.
7) Still not really worth the energy put in unless you want an excuse to tank (like me)

Here are those articles I promise😛

I had the pleasure of sitting down with IES Director The Original Hawkie and returning Federalist. We welcome her back with open arms.

She let down her guard for a few minutes and came down to chat with me.

AA: I've heard that you were a Federalist in the past.  Is that true?

TOH:  I’m a Fed again

AA: Before or after WTP?

TOH:  I was a Fed after WTP, was Fed FBI, and then I stopped erep cold.

AA: Roger.

TOH:  Since I’ve been back I’ve been USWP, and recently returned to Feds.

AA: IT's great to have you back in the Feds. Any particular reason you left the USWP? I ask because I, myself, left after a numbers of years a party member.

TOH: It’s very… stagnant… over there.  I like a healthy party life because I like being social. It’s like… the main thing good about this game.

AA: Yes, I felt the same.  While I'm kinda a slacker-erep player now, I like the option of keeping busy.

TOH: Exactly. Even if I don’t take any party positions, I like being in that active environment.

AA: The feds seems to have a great core, with new people joining all the time. Have you met some new people since returning?

TOH: Heh, it’s hard to throw a rock in IRC without hitting someone new.

AA: #fedpartychat is one of the most consistently busy party chats. It's very encouraging. Were you ever PP of the Federalist Party?

TOH: Oh no. Never. Wasn’t in that long before I left. I’m not the PP type. Wasn’t even PP of WTP. And I was there for ages from the beginning

AA: Well, I wouldn't be surprised to see you nominated...Would you accept a nomination?

TOH: I probably couldn’t do it justice. I’d have to think about it if it happened.  And, it feels pretentious since I did just return.

AA: Surround yourself with good people, and you'd be just fine.  Do you still have a go-to person?  A buddy, if you will?

TOH: I’m close with quite a few people, but I don’t know that I have a ‘go-to’ person that I always agree and take their opinion without question.  😛  I’ve been good friends with Mazzy and WildOwl for a long time.  Lots of friends have quit… lots of new friends…

AA: Well, we have openings in R&R, Fedex, Media, and many other departments.  I hope to see you jump right in.

TOH: Yeah, I think Kody was trying to drag me into Recruitment. But our timezones never match up.

AA: Welcome back to the game, and I am thankful to have gotten to know you a bit more.  Last question:  Are you really a girl?  The internet must know!

TOH: Of course.  Men have it so much easier in games like this. So much less harassment.  If I was a guy I would say I was a guy.

AA: Anything you'd like to say to your fellow Feds?

TOH: Nah, when people do that it sounds cheesy XD Like some catch phrase or smth.

AA: Ok, well, have a good afternoon.  Enjoy Real-Life and Erepublik Life, equally.

TOH: Real life hopefully more.  😛

AA: Take care, and god bless.

TOH: Also, you’ve reminded me how much more I love to do interviews than be subject to them. And yeah, adios.  FSM bless thee.

So an article was written and two sides have been arguing back and forth about the pro's/con's on the USAF merger.  Well I decided to call on eMerica's Thor; from the heavens and current Ruler of Greelingada formerly Canada,to get his thoughts on all of it.  ~ nickbergman
Note:
Bol😛 greeling
Normal: nickbergman

nickbergman: So how long have you been playing eRep?

greeling: Well I have been playing off and on since 2009, but didn't really didn't join the meta game till 2011. Since then I have always been around even if I was just two clicking.

nickbergman: Have you always been a member of AMP?

greeling: For the most part yes. There was a while I was in the Revolutionary Party and there was when I was in Ireland also. But other then those times I have been a member of the AMP.

nickbergman: So enough with the foreplay lets get down to the nitty gritty on why I summoned the astonishing greeling

greeling: Ok, time to give some greeling.

nickbergman: So there's been alot of change going on with eUSA and the MU's specifically the government run one's. What are your thoughts around the USAF merger?

greeling: I personally love the idea. I know some people haven't been fans of it but I see a lot of upsides cause of it. I really would like to see more MUs join the in the same in game MU just for some of the benefits. Some are, a country shout feed, able to help swing battles with change of orders better, and MU tournaments everyone gets the prizes.

nickbergman: Do you see any down sides to it?

greeling: There would be some with current MUs losing there in game identity as much and orders that officers make could be overridden by the President by changing the Daily Orders. There is probably more I am not thinking about but they aren't important.

nickbergman: Why is that?

greeling: Because, I say they aren't and my word is law.

nickbergman: Why?

greeling: Because, I am Greeling.

nickbergman: Fair enough
nickbergman: Well thank you and I will let you get back up to your thunder clouds, watching over eMerica, like a gargoyle surveying the streets

greeling: This was fun, now I have some Greelingadians to go whip which is also fun.

nickbergman: Yes, wrangle your land please

There you have it my fellow eMericans. USAF merger is for the betterment of all, because Greeling said so.  This has been nickbergman with fed press as always stay proud stay horny and stay classy FEDs.

Nickbergman gives us the low down on SHIELD with its CO

Times are changing, and they are changing fast.  There was a saying in the Marine Corps; Semper Gumby (always flexible). Well with that being said there are changes coming to our illustrious party MU.  As our commander has become more comfortable since taking over the reigns new ideas have come about and adjustments of current systems have begun.  While completing my daily order at an undisclosed location in Canada, I decided to hop aboard SHIELD's Helicarrier and have a little one on one time with our fearless leader, and see how he is doing.
Note:
Bol😛 bigcdizzle
Normal: nickbergman

nickbergman: So how are you this evening?  Any shenanigans going on?

bigcdizzle: Oh, not too much. Working on some wedding stuff since I'm getting married in about 2 months.

nickbergman: Congrats how is that going

bigcdizzle: Haha thank you. It's... an interesting process to say the least.

nickbergman: So now that you've had some time to get more involved with things since your last interview how are you feeling about your choice to take helm of SHIELD?

bigcdizzle: I'm feeling great about it. We are slowly but surely moving in the right direction as an MU. It takes a ton of work, but it's an amazingly rewarding process.

nickbergman: That's great. We got a little insight to some changes coming regarding some of the programs within SHIELD, I.E. HAMMER, and comments regarding that directly or any other programs that may or may not be started.

bigcdizzle: Well, an announcement will go out soon about the new HAMMER changes, but what I can say is that it is being revitalized to better serve newer players. It should work more effectively, and efficiently than ever. Other than that, we have a few other programs in the works, but nothing that I can announce yet. It will however come out soon enough.... Patience people. lol

nickbergman: So we had a deployment to piss off the Portuguese in Venezuela what are some take away's you got from our first major deployment while sitting in the hot seat?

bigcdizzle: Oh, good question. To be honest, the deployment served as much as a way to gauge where the unit is at in terms of activity and efficiency, as it was to complete a goal as a group, and have fun. First of all it showed me that the majority of the MU has not been engaged enough in the past. As soon as our deployment went live, people were chomping at the bit to do something fun as a group. Secondly, it showed what we are really capable of when we put forward a little effort. On the day of our deployment, we dropped nearly 1 billion damage as an MU. which when divided by our 48 active fighters (that is of all divisions) comes out to nearly 20 million damage per person. For an MU that does not have application requirements, that is astonishing. The Deployment was an absolute success from my standpoint, and we will be doing more of them soon.

nickbergman: Any thoughts as to how we can gain more active members, or even get some of the inactive members moving in the right direction?

bigcdizzle: Well, media is the first hurdle. We've been putting out at least 1 article per week, and it has so far been working. We've grown significantly since I joined SHIELD, and most of the new members are active daily fighters. The next thing that I would like to do, is start a recruitment division of SHIELD. It would have the specific goal of finding new players, and informing them about the benefits of joining SHIELD. This plan is still only in the beginning stages, and will take a lot of development, but it is something that will have to happen eventually.

nickbergman: speaking of media how do you take your Fed Press?

bigcdizzle: two cream, one sugar.

nickbergman: Do you find it difficult to maintain a constant and specific level of horniness and pride that comes with leading the official MU of the Federalist party?

bigcdizzle: Of course not. I have been Proud & Horny since most Feds were in eDiapers. It is engrained in me so deeply that it is a part of my soul.

nickbergman: So for those newborn Feds, or eRep players how do you suggest they go about joining?

bigcdizzle: It's easy as A, B, C... Simple as 1, 2, 3. All you have to do, is come join us ingame here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/main/group-show/1741 and then request a uniform and supplies on our forum. http://fedparty.forumotion.com/ The final step is, of course, to kick ass.

nickbergman: So being you originated in EZC and it use to be the MU of the Federalist party, and now you have come to lead us in Shield, has there been any thought or talk of possibly merging EZC and Shield and a return to Federalist Party for all?

bigcdizzle: No. Absolutely not. EZC is 100% autonomous, and SHIELD is 100% Fed. The two MUs have nothing to do with each other, aside from a little bit of camaraderie back and forth.

nickbergman: Any final words of wisdom to the proud and horny out there?

bigcdizzle: Just that, to always stay Proud/Horny, and don't forget, SHIELDS UP!

[nickbergman also got with SHIELD's Quarter Master General for a quick update on their search for more distribution resources.]

SHIELD is looking for Quartermasters as well as recruits in general if you want to grow and grow smart SHIELD is the way to go.  Supported in great part by the Federalist party.  Here are some words from the SHIELD Quartermaster General of awesomeness himself, on how to join SHEILD and becoming a Quartermaster if you are already involved.  Take it away Apollo221...

It’s hard not to boast when Quartermasters are so awesome. The bread and butter to SHIELD lies within the QM’s. An elite team of people handing out supplies and so forth keeps SHIELD running smooth and with thdomster94 and WookyJack leading the way, everyone always gets their supplies. Quartermasters need to be active and involved in the Military Unit to move up through the ranks. It’s easy to join SHIELD by just going here http://fedparty.forumotion.com/ and requesting access. As Quartermaster General I am proud to say I am in SHIELD, the greatest Military Unit in eRepublik. (Ya I said it) SHIELDS UP! ~ Apollo221

Well there you have it Feds.  Get involved drive your pride and horniness to it's climax, and don't turn back. For those of you that are not a member of SHIELD or the Federalist party feel free to join us at the link's above, and begin your growth into a much better person.  As always we are proud , we are horny, we are Fed.  Stay classy Feds.  Until next time this is nickbergman with Fed Press.

Tomorrow is congressional election day. Don't forget to vote P/H!
