[FIST] Meta-Game [FIST]



Good morning/afternoon/evening to everyone in the eWorld. How are you doing this week? What's on your mind right now? I've got a little something I'd like to ponder with you. Call it a crisis of identity or consciousness question, if you will. How does the eUSA proceed with its Meta-Game?

If you do not have access to Private Congress, we are currently discussing as a nation what can be done to combat the numerous bots or multis that sprout up in the game. Plato has implemented measures to combat these, however the actual effect has been to hurt some ecountries, Iran for example. Plato seems to be blocking certain VPNs and other IP addresses in an effort to combat bots and multis. So far, though, it seems to only be hurting the community. Have you seen any significant reduction in bot/script/multi activity since these measures have been put into place? Some have said a few airbots got hit.

I'm not going to blow smoke and say that I monitor the situation closely, because I play one account, the same account for ten plus years; and I do not have the time to dedicate to managing bots or multis. I enjoy playing this game so that I can hang with several friends, perhaps make new ones, and toy with enemies. The eUS is undergoing changes as we shift our foreign policy to ensure our long-term stability. If you disagree with this shift, can you clearly and concisely explain why? Can you handle a mature and rational discussion on this matter? We will be opening a discussion in Private Congress towards the end of the month, so if you would like to be involved I suggest you petition your party to allow you into Congress. Make a case for yourself, though. What is your contribution to the meta-game or the eUSA? What values, assets, and consideration for others do you bring to the table?





While we ponder the future of the game and the eUSA, we can also take a moment to critically look at how we got to where we are today. I am thankful that you have choosen me to be your Country President this month, and I promise to remain active, engage the community, and inform the citizenry as much as possible, without incurring harm to ourselves or our nation. If your recollection of the past two years is fuzzy, I encourage you to seek out the truth. What were the major factions that contributed to our shift in foreign policy? I can only speak for myself in this respect.

When I lost to WhydoIbotherToo, the start of an invasion by Croatia, Egypt and Ireland had begun that led to a long run of trains across our Country by a bunch of countries. Over that course, we acknowledged our situation and chose to acquiesce to the wishes of CODE. In my opinion, this was CODE's last chance to turn the eUSA back towards their favor once and for all. But, as the situation unfolded, we realized that we would never be treated with respect nor as an equal in the CODE alliance. They did their best to keep us in the fold and under thumb, however you would like to term this period in our history.

As we began to realize this truth, our leadership took steps to disassociate ourselves from the CODE alliance and made this known formally in our departure. CODE not only took offense to this course, but upped its rhetoric by bad-mouthing us in the media and attempting to destroy our resolve. They parked an offensive and demeaning article in our top five for at least forty-five days. And all of this began with a failed airstrike attempt into Thailand. While I put some of the blame on that administration, the inordinate response by CODE should have proven to everyone that they were grasping at straws. They could not foresee a future in erepublik without the eUSA as an ally.

Therefore, I am asking all eUS citizens to critically consider that CODE was simply attempting to undermine our foreign policy shift, and will continue to do so until we have proven ourselves to our new allies. I ask everyone to consider all attempts by CODE and their agents to hamper our efforts an afront to our national pride, sensibility, and resolve.

As I told my cabinet recently:

I do not hate erepublik, nor am I afraid of commitment. What scares you about our new future? The only thing we should 'hate' is those who attempt to sabatoge our journey. We will complete this journey, and we need informed, critically thinking citizenry in order to accomplish this goal.
