[Entertainment] Adventures of the Sixth

Day 2,220, 16:23 Published in Japan Japan by William of Edenbury

Greetings everyone. I have a lot of free time right now so for a couple weeks I'm going to be making a lot of articles. Some will be government related, some party related, and some just to keep myself entertained like this one.

I'm going to be messing with some article styles for entertainment and this one is going to be an adventure story (Heavy on text light on images).

So join me as we follow the fictional 6th Regiment of the Imperial Japanese Army around the eWorld.

Disclaimer: I'm going to be referencing real players, but their personalities are going to be so changed and exaggerated that the only similarity will be the names. So no torches and pitch forks please 😛

Extra Note: Try not to laugh at the "cursing" eRep rules dont allow me to write explicit language lol

Adventures of the 6th: The Mitsunami War, Part 1

"FIRE IN THE HOLE!!"

Debris flew out of the Portuguese bunker as Corporal Trent crouched next to an opening in the reinforced cement. Wearily he stood back up as another squad pushed in through the main entrance. The Minister of Defense had ordered them to keep knocking down the Portuguese defense network known as the Shield, but they weren't getting anywhere. While they were raiding bunkers in the country side, the Portuguese still held their cities.

"What's wrong Corporal?"

Corporal Trent jumped a little as his Captain suddenly appeared behind him.

"Sir, permission to speak freely?"

"Granted"

"What is the government thinking?! We need to push through the Portuguese lines and take back our country!"

The Captain looked at the soldier for a moment and leisurely pulled out a pack of cigarettes. He shielded the flame of his lighter against the autumn wind and took a slow, satisfying drag as the fire caught.

"Boy, do you understand the position we are in?"

The Captain pointed at the soldier's rifle. The wooden stock had been improperly treated and even now it was apparent that it would soon start rotting. It had been a long time since they had gotten proper, modern armaments. They had to make do with what their scavenging units could put together.

Taking another drag of the cigarette the Captain continued speaking, "But I have some good news for you. Gather your squad, the Minister of Defense himself has given us a mission."

Startled, Corporal Trent went in search of his Sergeant and other squad members. The Government had only been giving out vague orders until now. He wondered what their mission could possibly be.

"Sir! This is the first squad of the 6th IJA Regiment!"

The Corporal stood at attention as their Regiment Captain reported to the Minister of Defense.

The Minister.... was not quite what Trent had expected. He was dressed in some type of bronzed ceremonial armor and carried two swords of differing length at his side. After the Captain had saluted, the two had begun to speak amicably with the Minister seeming rather animated for a Military Officer. After a moment, the Minister noticed that the squad was still standing at attention and turned towards them.

"At ease, gentlemen. No need for so much formality," the Minister said with a grin.

"I'm sure you are all eager to find out what it is you are going to be doing, but first let me introduce myself. My name's William of Edenbury, but you can call me Will."

"Sergeant Bonaparte, Sir!"

"Corporal Trent, Sir!"

"Lance-Corporal Murasaki, Sir!"

As his squad went down the line and reported their names and ranks, Trent was reminded of just how diverse the military was. His Sergeant was from France and he had originally been from the United States. He knew a couple others were from the same places but others came from countries like Hungary, Serbia, Peru, and Chile.

The Minister chuckled, "still a bit stiff I see. Well I'm going to need you boys to loosen up. I have a rather important mission for you and you'll be meeting up with the Maid Cafe to complete it."

The soldiers looked a bit shocked. The Maid Cafe was one of the more... unusual Militias in the country. They had never met them before but they had heard the stories. The Maid Cafe was well known for their uniforms even among those that had never seen them. Less known though, was their specialty with urban combat and ability to operate in enemy held cities with impunity.

"Where in the F**k are we supposed to meet them?!" Private Luda whispered.

"Chill man, we just gotta follow orders and we'll find them soon enough."

As he spoke, Private First Class Johnson sipped tea from a small cup that looked even smaller in his large hands.

Trent could tell Johnson was enjoying himself, but he was siding with Luda on this one. They had been told to sit in this Cafe and wait for orders. And they were attracting attention....

They weren't in their military uniforms or anything. They were in full civilian garb, but the problem was the setting. They had dressed for the slums of the city with worn jeans, old jackets, and unshaved faces. That's where you are supposed to meet an underground group of urban combat specialists isn't it?!

But instead, they were sitting inside a cosplay cafe. Some of the chubby male patrons kept sending them nervous glances. It was annoying Trent. What?! Did they think they were going to trash the place just because of how they were dressed?!

Trent tried to calm himself. At least the waitresses weren't eyeballing them. It was actually a little strange. They acted as if they were any other customer. He had to admit though, he really liked how they were all dressed as maids. Especially with those shirt skirts....

"What the..."

"What's wrong man?" Johnson turned towards Trent with a look of slight concern.

"Nothing, must just be getting close to nodding off from sitting here..."

Trent waved off the concern, but wondered to himself. He could have sworn he had seen the gleam of a polished revolver barrel under one of the Waitress's skirt...

That couldn't be right though....

lost in his own thoughts he didn't notice the woman walking up to them dressed in similar attire to the waitresses.

"Hello Gentlemen, we have been waiting for you. My name is Minami Saki"
