[DoE] August 2013: A New Way Forward

As this month marks a massive success on the part of our nation’s ATO efforts, I would like to congratulate our new country president, Oblige, on winning the first open election in almost a year. As for me, I, Tanishq, am pleased to serve my country this month as Secretary of Education.

Executive Team

This month, the Department of Education (DoE) will be headed by the following citizens:

The DoE is also staffed by a number of American University mentors who guide new citizens to a better understanding of the game. Read on for more information about the mentoring program.

New Direction

As Secretary of Education, I will do my best to implement and maintain an abundance of educational programs and resources geared toward our country’s new citizens. The following are some of the goals and initiatives I have in mind for the DoE going forwar😛

---Frequent publication of quality educational articles
---Ensuring the mentoring program’s optimal performance
---Encouraging citizens to visit our IRC channel as an educational resource
---Holding writing contests and/or other fun events to promote new-citizen participation
---Updating and maintaining the DoE wiki pages
---Creating a website with additional resources

Current DoE Programs

Mentoring program: New players may sign up to receive an American University mentor who will guide them through their first days in the eRepublik and help them learn more about the game (and metagame).

If you are a new player and would like to receive a mentor through this program, please fill out this form. We will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

If you are an older player and would like to help out the community by contributing to newer members’ understanding of the game, please send me a message.

IRC incentives program: New players who join our IRC channel (#eUSA-DoE) and correctly answer the question of the day will win 5 Q7 tanks and a small quantity of Q7 food! Older citizens who join our channel and answer the same question will be rewarded with 5 Q7 tanks. Be sure to idle in the chat room even when no one is asking questions so you do not miss your chance at getting your reward--and the opportunity to participate in intellectual discussions with your fellow eAmericans!
