[DoCA] Updates and Newb Help!

Day 2,981, 18:34 Published in USA USA by Department of Citizen Affairs

The Department of Citizen Affairs
This Land is YOUR Land, Take Pride in America, Lend a Hand!

Hey everyone!

This is our first DoCA media release since I became Secretary of Citizens Affairs 2 weeks ago. Part of my task this January was to do a complete overview of every Department Program to see what was working, what needed fixing and where the Department should be headed. First off, I want to thank Tyler Buubular, Yui, Carhugar, Kodos and Scott for their work for the Dept last month and many months before (that would be years, if we're talking about Kodos). It had been some time since the Department had a Director who served a full term, but despite that everyone made my return to the Dept (last time I served around these parts was pre-DoCA, SecED for Naz a looong while ago) really smooth. Shoutout to the DoCA Commission as well for advising me on any proposals I've brought forward to them and answering any questions I've had.

Anyways, now that the boring internal reviews are done - I have updates for ya, alongside DoCA's usual plug of our various programs to help eAmerica's new friends out.

Question of the Day
Want to tackle this one first. I'd been informed that there was some backlog earlier and that it'd be caught up. After checking the sheets and seeing comments by Franklin and what4, I've found there is now a 54 day backlog.

I won't be doing any program expansion until what we have right now is functional. Over the next 3 days I'll be working with one of our new Program leads to catch up on the backlog - once we're caught up, I'll QM QoTD until the replacement program lead takes the reins on January 30th. I'll be publishing a report in 3 days letting people know how the program is doing. Apologies for the inconvenience and not catching this sooner.

Bewbs for Newbs
This program will be shutting down as of Monday, January 25th. The goals of B4N were to
A.Be a fun community hub and
B. Add life to the Welcoming Centre.

The program doesn't have enough appeal to meet those goals. The Department will be replacing B4N with a forum game the DoCA Commission and I are pretty excited about - iSpy. More details to come. The program will be open to everyone and focus on bringing life into the Welcoming Centre for our newfriends.

Ambassadors and Media

Once the kerfuffle with QoTD is sorted and we launch iSpy, we're going to be updating all the old Department of Education guides into the present. Also, we'll be launching a new awareness program for DoCA's programs and tips - DoCA Ambassadors. I won't go into detail in this article, but all I will say; If you're willing to spread the good word of DoCA, help grow your nation and login to eRep every 2 days, send me a PM. Dis gon be good.
