[Conway] Making It All Clear

Day 1,931, 12:34 Published in Ireland Ireland by MrConway

Citizens of Ireland,

This is my last article I am going to release about the upcoming elections. Over the past few days I have released three articles containing my campaign launch, financial plans and my cabinet. In this article I wish to briefly summarize my plans if elected and I am going to comment on a few things that have really shook eIreland recently.

Simply I plan on:

Heavily funding our military - This is an unquantified goal. It wouldn't be prudent to try posting a figure for weapons, but as our military relies on donations alot these days, I'm confident my MoF can increase the governments contribution to the military.

Sign up to 10 MPP's - Considering the nature of our preferred MPP choices, I think we need 10 in order to assure there is always an active target for our citizens to fight. I know how often there hasn't been any active targets on the list of battles and this is something I aim to change.

Continue making a profit - In my opinion this is the single greatest issue facing our country. This country was going from strength to strength and attracting a lot of foreign interest until the SAWC incident. While I cannot return us to our previous position in a single term, my MoF can make substantial headway, perhaps enough to break the overhead-threshold facilitating following strong MoF's to keep the snowball rolling.

Sourcing a war for the population - Having our own war has many advantages. It gives our citizens the chance to earn True Patriot medals and it also makes this game more attractive to new players and assists in the creation of a babyboom.

Change our tax system - It's my intention to remove income tax, and possibly lower VAT. Import can stay high. People may say this is contradictory to my other goals. However my MoF always relied upon drawing money from external sources into our nation, rather than from taxation of our own population, he only ever supported taxes if they provided an opportunity to use game mechanics to that end.

Improve services for new citizens - Marcus Suridius created an impressive site that contains everything new citizens need. I plan on getting all information on this website updated and getting the service sent out to all the new citizens who join eIreland. Keeping new citizens in this game is a tough task, one that we really need to tackle!

Analyse Ireland's options in ALL alliances - I have selected two Ministers of Foreign Affairs who will each be speaking to both sides of the worlds alliance spectrum. All reports and findings will be conveyed to the general population and then I intend to hold a referdum on which alliance the public wishes to join.

My final note is about a lot of bad words said about me. I have been called a thief, a PTO'er and an xenophobe along with several other things a lot over recent months, weeks and days. It annoys me as people who say this really have no idea what has gone on. I am not an xenophobe, in fact in real life I rent out rooms to foreign students, this accusation is invalid. I have been called a thief, yet again this is a lie. I did not steal anything from Ireland, yes I received a tiny fraction of stolen money which I returned and have since apologised. I have given a lot more money to Ireland than a lot of people realise, why don't I ever get credit for this? Also I have been called a PTO'er. My point for everyone is that my party was PTO'd for two months and this was pretty much ignored by everyone and they said it was of no importance to eIreland. However following the merger, the elite group of the old ILP have kicked up a fuss as they are no longer the elite, if they win the next Party President election fair and square without extra assistance (assistance people have offered them and that was not offered to my old party) then they won the election, we will take our hats off to them and continue as party members working to bring socialist ways to eIreland, we are working for them, not against them. If they wished to cooperate with us they are welcome but instead they refuse.

I wish to thank everyone who has supported me this far, everything you've done for my campaign has been appreciated. To those who hate me and criticise me, I ask what bad have I really done? How can I ever do anything good if you attack every good thing I or my friends do. The past is the past, can we not move on and build on a better Ireland. You all call for unity, but you continue to isolate us and increase tensions within eIreland.

Step back and think. Don't jump to conclusions. Don't think I am all that bad.

Best of luck to my rivals tomorrow, we played it clean.

Until next time, have a nice day,
MrConway.

Irish nationality is an ancient spiritual tradition, one of the oldest and most august traditions in the world. Politically, Ireland's claim has been for freedom in order to the full and perpetual life of that tradition. The generations of Ireland have gone into battle for no other thing. To the Irish mind for more than a thousand years freedom has had but one definition. It has meant not a limited freedom, a freedom conditioned by the interests of another nation, a freedom compatible with the suzerain authority of a foreign parliament, but absolute freedom, the sovereign control of Irish destinies. It has meant not the freedom of a class, but the freedom of a people. It has meant not the freedom of a geographical fragment of Ireland, but the freedom of all Ireland, of every sod of Ireland. And the freedom thus defined has seemed to the Irish the most desirable of all earthly things. They have valued it more than land, more than wealth, more than ease, more than empire.
