[AriesCP] Reuniting our Country

The last time I wrote an article I stated that Netherlands is Dead, and it’s true. We are still in a state of limbo with no hope of improving our situation. We fight meaningless wars that do little to improve our country. We are part of an alliance that has little respect for us and won’t even treat us as a real member. Our people quit from inactivity and this constant strength training because we don’t have a national goal to strive for.

I myself almost fell into the trap of boredom and inactivity. At the start of Notie’s term I was slotted to leave for Canada. It was only because I had been elected as vCP did I stay to try and improve the country, but things have not improved. I also do not think I am alone when I say we need to start taking an active stance in this game or we will fall into oblivion. This is why I am running for CP, why I believe we must break from the past to create an invigorating and refreshing future for our country. This starts with a long-term goal that will take many months to achieve, but one that we can all support--reuniting our country.



Primary Objective: Reunification of Netherlands

The only true goal our country has is the unification of our country. Without this, we will always be slaves, handicap and vassals to our masters, serving those that oppress us. This is not the way any of us want to play this game, and it shows just how boring it makes things for us. Without our freedom, we will never achieve anything brighter for our country. With that in mind there are only two viable options to reclaiming our country:

1. Reuniting our country through negotiation and peace.

This first option will be the complete focus of my term. We have been loyal allies to Poland and Sirius for the better part of a year now. Our efforts have seen us fighting Asgard in two wars, both very successful and beneficial to Sirius. When we aren’t in our own wars we are helping Sirius in their battles by always having our country orders of their priorities. We have even created NSPP, a suballiance that primarily serves Sirius and Poland by keeping Asgard in check. Off the battlefield we do interviews and write articles in support of Sirius and Poland. We work with them to assure their best interests are achieved, including suppressing any RWs in our own lands for the pure benefit of Poland. Our entire existence since the treaty has been to serve Poland, and later Sirius.

My suggestion is that we work with NSPP, specifically Germany, and negotiate with Poland so that we can achieve a true state of freedom. The plan would be to work with our allies, using our long standing loyalty to Sirius and Poland, to regain the lands of both Germany and Netherlands. We would petition for Poland to take over regions in Sweden and Norway, effectively cutting a path to their oil resource. In order for them to still hold on to rubber, they would need to keep the Germany regions of Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg to cut a path to France. Unfortunately this is unavoidable for Germany, but it still gives them many of their regions back. Now the tricky part is the wood resource. Poland would have to take Romandie from Switzerland to keep their wood bonus. When all is said and done, Poland would have maintained all of their resources and shown that they actually care about the loyalty Netherlands and Germany have given them.

I understand this is a difficult option to pursue, seemingly impossible, but I feel this is a very viable option with the pressure the new alliance changes will be placing on the world (Secondary Objective). At the very least, we have to try peace, really try, before we can justify a more aggressive option.

2. Declaring war and building new allies to reclaim our home.

This second option is the last resort option, but one that we must all be willing to accept if we want to take back our land. Because of the sensitivity of this option, I can only detail so much of how it would operate, but I can promise you that this option will not be pursued during my term. I want to fully give peace a chance before we are forced to take more drastic measures. It would be my hope that my predecessors carry on my long-term plan after my month is up.

The war option consists primarily of building relationships with countries we have previously ignored or considered our enemies. I’d rather not go into specifics, but I believe many of you can figure out who we would be opening relations with to achieve this goal. From there we would be in constant contact with all countries currently occupied by Poland. The only way for a successful uprising against Poland is through complete cooperation from all oppressed countries. If we could manage to build this relationship, then we would have a very strong chance of taking what is rightfully ours.

Building up relationships like this would take a lot of time and planning. Preparing a war plan would also take a long time to figure out the funding and coordination of our allies. This idea is something that we would have to work on over multiple terms for any chance of realistic success, but it is not something we should shy away from. If Poland truly doesn’t want to treat us with respect and care, then we will have to make them listen to us by coordinating the strongest effort we can against them.

Again this is only a last resort option, one that will not be taking during my term, but one that we need to be willing to accept. I, for one, will not allow myself to idly sit by and watch Netherlands fall into greater degradation without a fight, be it through peaceful means or war.



Secondary Objective: Achieving a Respected Alliance Membership

Currently we are a member of Pro-Sirius, not the actual alliance of Sirius, but a grouping of countries that support the goals and views of the main alliance. We are not a respected member, we are a vassal member. Our entire purpose in this alliance is to support the main members however we can. Our own goals and views are never taken into account unless they somehow benefit the main members of Sirius, such as when we war Asgard. This is unacceptable.

The closest thing we have to a real alliance is NSPP, but this is only a suballiance. Although each of us consider each other with respect and treat us as such, we are not a real alliance. We have been through wars together, supporting each other through cc and firepower, as well as politically and through the media. NSPP has been the greatest allianceship to happen to our country in a very long time. It is with this in mind that I want us to pursue something very similar, perhaps even upgrading NSPP into a real alliance and expanding it.

For those of you that don’t know already, Sirius is dying and the alliances are shifting. Poland is expected to group with a new set of countries while Germany has already left Aurora. Pacifica is expanding and Asteria is also dying. Even Finland has left Asgard. This is the perfect time for us to start gearing up for an active stance in the world. We need to step up and take an active role in determining what alliance we are going to be a part of. We need to make some bold moves in determining our future with Poland while their alliance situation is unstable. I know it is risky and tough, but there will never be a better time for us to step up a demand our fair share of the pie.

Because of these changes and the extent of how much world knowledge one would need to guide our country, I am appointing Garmr as my MoFA. I strongly believe that he can work both sides of the aisle, including harboring relationships with countries we previously considered enemies, and expanding our friendship with those we are already inline with. The unstable position Poland will be facing in the upcoming months is exactly what we need to recognize ourselves as worthy of a real alliance and negotiating for our land.



Side Project: Building A Mercenary Country

A few weeks ago Kaczyk came to me with the idea of using DAF as a mercenary MU. He explained that we could be taking advantage of our strong soldiers by hiring them out to fight for other countries in their wars. With his connections we could effectively turn Netherlands into a country of soldiers for hire. This would bring new revenue streams to DAF and our soldiers as well as bolstering our fighting organization and further our reputation that Netherlands has tried to accomplish through war with Asgar😛 Military Strength.

I have asked Kaczyk, my cVP, to write an indepth article of this project and to release it in a few days. He will be working alongside my MoD, Notie, and DAF commander Walhallah to make sure this plan goes into action. I am very excited about it and am looking forward to the update just as much as you are.



My Current Team

This is not my full team, but if you have seen my structure in the past, then you might know that I do things a little differently.

vCP: Kaczyk - He will be my effective second in command, but only in name: His power will be exactly equal to the power of the CP. I am placing my full trust in Kaczyk to lead when I am unavailable and to make any judgement calls that the CP would normally make when I am not around. His experience with Poland and MoD makes him an excellent vCP and one that I will depend on greatly.

MoFA: Garmr - His knowledge in foreign affairs and connections are unmatched by anyone else in this country. I say this with full confidence in Garmr’s abilities to position our country in a way that will benefit us in the future. He will be able to cut through the garbage that most MoFAs must endure to build us strong relationships with countries we will need if we are going to achieve our goals of reunification.

Mo😨 Notie112 - He is literally the most successful war CP we have ever had in our history. Notie has declared, managed, and won two successful wars in the past year. This is a feat that no other Dutch president has ever accomplished. The experience he has gained from accomplishing this task makes it foolish for anyone not to take what he has to say seriously. I have full confidence in Notie to manage our military effectively and work with Kaczky in fulfilling the mercenary country project.
