Yep, I did it. I pushed the button.

Day 727, 05:38 Published in Israel Israel by Maelyn

If my party will have me, I am running for the Knesset. So, why should you vote for me? Good question. I tend to be kind of quiet. I don't jump in and say stuff just cause I like hearing my own voice. (Or seeing my own words, as the case may be). A lot of you probably have no idea who I am, so let me give you a little background.
I was eBorn in eUSA, and spent my early days of life trying to figure out the game. Two-clicking was easy, but boring. Other people seemed to be really into the game, though, so I figured there must be more to it than that. Slowly I found the forums, but....well, seemed like a lot of people making a fuss over nothing, really. After a few weeks I was invited to join hte National Guard, and that is what finally got me into the game. During my time in the eUS I progressed from soldier in the NG to Company XO for Bravo Company in the eUSMI. It was an amazing experience. I made some friends, got to fight against PEACE, and led a great group of soldiers through the summer North American war.
My next stop was eSouth Africa. My time there was spent helping the newly reformed country develop a mobile fighting force - known today as the eSA Shock Troopers. I loved eSA, made friends there, and enjoyed the challenge of starting a force from scratch. Eventually, though, the work was done, or at least my part of it. I knew I had taken it as far as my abilities would allow, and it was time for new blood to come in and give it the drive and direction to grow. At about that time Sir Valaro Volcrum approached me to see if I'd consider moving to eIsrael to help them develop their fighting forces. eIsrael's army would be smaller than the forces I had led to date, and the work I needed to do could be done offline for the most part. Looking at what I had accomplished in eSA, and due to some changes in my personal life which I knew would necessitate cutting back on my eRep time, I decided to give it a try.
I am really happy I did. eIsrael is an amazing country. In the time I have been here I have been happier than ever. The people of this country are great! Passionate, open, welcoming, fun, interesting...I could go on. Y'all are the best! While I've been working on developing the IDF into an efficient fighting force, I've been slowly learning the history of this eCountry, getting to know it's leaders and citizens, and discovering how things work. I know everyone right now wants to focus on what -doesn't- work, but in my opinion there's a lot more right with this country than there is wrong. The problems we have can be fixed. I've offered some suggestions, privately, to those who can (hopefully) act on them. But I thought...maybe it's time I stood up, stepped off the sidelines, and got my own hands involved in the solution. I want this country to succeed. I know we can do it, if everyone pitches in. So I'm pitching in.
So why should you vote for me? I'm honest. I won't bs you. If I have something to say, I say it. I don't like tossing insults or flames, but I'm not afraid to say something is stupid if that's what I think. If I don't know something, I say I don't know, then I go find out about it. I believe in the future of eIsrael. I believe in the eIsraeli people. I want, more than anything, to make sure this country is strong, stable, and prepared to create it's future. I'm a soldier, not a politician, so you won't get a lot of flowery phrases from me. eIsrael needs a welcoming atmosphere for business and new citizens. It needs strong allies. It needs a strong defense. And it needs a stable economy. I'll help to bring that about.
That's it, I guess. If you have questions, post them and I'll do my best to answer them.
