World Update

Day 2,277, 07:42 Published in Australia Australia by Damian Gaby

Hi guys and girls!

I know that many of you do not follow the international press, so I thought I should let you know some of the things that are happening out there. As some of you know, there are two new Alliances forming, centered around the big military powers of the game.

The first one that's just been born officially is Asteria and has as founding countries Argentina, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia. The HQ is composed of the presidents of the six countries and the temporary alliance leader for the next 7 days is the president of Greece, poseidonsr. So far countries that are looking to join this alliance are: Moldavia, Portugal, France, Colombia, Montenegro, Taiwan, Thailand, Uruguay and Venezuela. There may be others in the making, but these are the ones that I have heard of for now. Also, an official page was created on the wiki:

The other alliance is centered around Spain and Poland. The other countries that are in talks for setting up this new alliance are USA, UK, Croatia and Turkey. There's even a rumor of a name, Sirius, but nothing is official as of yet.

Countries that have not yet decided where they stand are China, Chile, Indonesia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, FYROM and Russia.

As far as we are concerned, my sources tell me that Chile, our biggest enemy is leaning towards Sirius, mostly because Spain is there and because they are friends with Poland. Things are not official yet, so that may change. There is even talk of a separate third alliance between Chile, Bulgaria, Russia, FYROM, Germany, Indonesia, Paraguay and Mexico.

Is it time for us to choose a side? Well, the facts are as follows: because we are one of the least powerful countries in the eWorld, it may not be up to us, but it may actually rest a bit more on what Indonesia and Chile are doing, as they may block our entry on one side or the other. If we move fast we may join one side or the other, but they may still kick us out if Chile or Indonesia asks, as they are more valued as an ally. It's a bit early at this stage for us, but I think we should definitely keep our options open.

On other news, after winning the Military units tournament last week, Romania has attacked Spain via an air drop in order to kick some ass and help Portugal. Poland tried to help Spain by attacking Romania, but after loosing the initiative Poland and Spain are both being beaten by a Romania that has a permanent 2x determination bonus. Things will certainly change once the bonus goes away, so don't trust the map too much, it is about to change.
