Why I am proud to be eAmerican - AMP Writing Contest Entry

Day 2,163, 23:50 Published in USA USA by J.Lucent

When I started a little less than two months ago, I was immediately shell shocked beyond all hope. I walked into a country surrounded by giants of legend. War was on our very doorstep, there was political subterfuge in the form of an unending PTO threat, and then there I was right in the middle of everything.

A dramatic representation of my first 5 minutes in game.

In all honesty it hasn't been that long since I got on my feet here, but I can honestly say I'm proud I'm an eAmerican. Every step of the journey so far has been amazing to me. The political and military giants reached down and guided me when I asked. Information was freely given, knowledge shared. All with smiles and kind words, regardless if it was a question they had doubtlessly heard thousands of times already. The Flight Training program got me into shape, armed, and out on the battlefield to help defend our homes. I learned a lot from them on how things are done from a military stand point. I'm proud to have been a part of that, and was a little sad when I graduated and knew I would have to move on. Moving on to the AirForce taught me even more. I learned more about coordination, my eyes opening to the overall war. I'm proud to be a part of the AirForce, which has put its heart and soul into every battle.

Politically has been quite a ride as well. My time with AMP has been short so far, but already I can see this will be my home. I'm proud to be part of the AMP community. My simple writing ability has landed me under the helpful wing of saraht0ga as a deputy media director. A job I hope to excel in. But the thing that makes me the most proud is the fact that they gave me a shot at doing more. I was surprised that someone as new as I was would be given the time of day, let alone a voice and encouraged to speak my mind. It was refreshing, unexpected, and has made my experiences here that much more enjoyable.

I'm proud of a lot of a great many things here in our little world. Flight Training, the Air Force, AMP, the friends I've made, and the chances I've been given. But most of all I'm proud of being an eAmerican, otherwise none of this would have been possible.
