Why do we play this game? A Presidential Cabinet

Day 2,079, 22:35 Published in USA USA by Oblige

Dear America,

To begin some mood music: http://youtu.be/ae7tASAkop8

My old friend, Dennis McVicker made a post in the We the People forums where he asked me the question (emphasis mine):

"What do you intend to do to address our internal/domestic issues (i.e. the return to prominence of Pfeiffer, the divisive political atmosphere, and the general individual first mentality we see expressed on a daily basis by many Americans)?

And the question really made me think.

A lot.

It was something I have been guilty of many times, if not on an individual level than on a party level or a MU level or on some other level that was anything other than America first.

And it also made me ponder: when did this happen? When did things get so bad? When did I stop having fun and start playing out of fear and spite?

NewAzazel and DrLuis have both written excellent article outlining their positions regarding our military, foreign affairs, and domestic policies were they to become CP. These were all very well written, and showed excellent though; however, I believe the most important problem facing eAmerica has nothing to do with these things - it has to do with our community.

Does the Oblige administration have plans like they do? Sure. I'll give you the bullet point version.

Foreign Affairs
★ Continue to develop relations with countries from the failed Imperium Alliance appointing Special Ambassadors to Hungary, Poland and Spain
★ Help right Circle of Trust by doubling down with our allies in that alliance - supporting them more overtly in their campaigns and asking for their support in turn
★ Americans are top notch Alliance Organizers and CoT HQ is desperate for help. It's time we've leant them some members of our Brain Trust

Military Affairs
★ A 100% revamp of the NSC. Reboot the whole thing from scratch with an emphasis on bringing all MUs to the table. Every non-PTO American MU of reasonable size will have a seat at the table for it's Commanding Officer and 2nd Commanders. Strategy will not be dictated, it will be discussed.
★ USAF will finally get the attention it deserves from an Administration that isn't looking to disband it or doesn't care about maintaining a standing National Army. Congress will finally get the results it is entitled to as MU management is tweaked to optimize usage of the budget spend.

Domestic Affairs
★ All Party Presidents have accepted Advisor Positions and I hope their successors will as well. It is my hope that if all does not go according to plan this month, Unity will become a thing of the past during my administration.
★ Interior will launch an aggressive fund raising campaign to raise currency to increase awareness of its programs

Media Affairs
★ The WHPR will be an absolute blitzkrieg and you'll see why when you read below
★ eNPR is going to start happening again

Ok, so those are some bullet points, but the real question you should be asking yourself is what do you have planned for the community? They don't, or at least that's not what they're campaigning on.

You can see part of my plan tucked away up in those bullet points. Some things seem like such small changes "inviting all MU commanders to the NSC and making sure they get proper forum and IRC masking, changing the structure of the organization so it's less top down" - what does that even mean? And, I will be honest, I am kind of a bureaucrat. I love paperwork. I love stamps. But to understand why that's an important shift, why it's a sea change, you need to know that historically "independent" MUs have had a shaky relationship with the National Security Council. They'd get invited, then booted, then invited again, but felt like they were getting yelled at most of the time, or they'd just get forgotten about. That will be over with.

Another small point - making sure all the Party Presidents have access to the Presidential Daily Briefing because they're all advisors - how did we even do anti-take over stuff before this?! Such an easy thing to do, such a minuscule change.

The Oblige Plan to improve the American Community is to start with small changes to improve communication amongst the player leadership. That's it. Start small, and then incrementally improve. This is why I am running for President.

And with that manifesto written without further procrastination I bring you your core cabinet:

Vice President: Vanek26
Chief of Staff: Israel Stevens
National Security Council Chairman: n0s3
Secretary of State: NewAzazel
Secretary of Defense: Darkmantle
Secretary of Media: Chief White Bull (George Armstrong Custer)

The rest will be announced later.

Good news though. I am still accepting applications:
