Gold Farming Etiquette
with Wild Owl and Arrden

Wild Owl: With over 30 Training Wars, the US boasts the highest number of training wars in the New World. We have held that position for most of the era with Voots as our FA, which enables us to farm for both CC (via True Patriot medals), and gold. But how really does gold farming work?

Arrden: "Gold Farming" is a term used by players to refer to maximizing the gains of Gold received from acquiring Battle Hero (BH), and Sky Hero (SH) medals. There are a few very specific and important guidelines (or Rules some may call them) to Gold Farming these medals.

Wild Owl: The amount of gold citizens can get from a battle is as follows: A sky hero gives 10 gold. A D4 Battle Hero gives 5 gold. D3 Battle Hero gives 4 gold, D2 Battle hero gives the citizen 3 gold and D1 gives the winner 2 gold. The amount of gold from a division doubles if it is epic.

Arrden: 1. Respect the "First Hit Rule''. The First Hit Rule dictates that the first player to hit first in a Training War battle is the player entitled to the BH or SH medal for that battle. So as to not get players fighting over medals, screwing up training war objectives, and unnecessarily using more resources than is necessary. There are plenty of Training War battles to farm gold. There's absolutely no need to fight over it.
Wild Owl: This helps people be more efficient. As a country with over 30 TWs, there’s no need for us to fight with eachother, there is enough for everyone.

Arrden: 2. Be absolutely sure you are keeping the nation that is supposed to win the battle on the winning side of the battle. Your gold farming does not precede our nation's national security.
Wild Owl: For eUS battles, the Department of Defense (shefetzu, Thee Dude, Henry, or Shiloh normally) post orders on who is to win. For foreign battles, it’s generally (but not always) a safe assumption that the side with a higher score is expected to win. In addition, citizens can look at a TW’s history to see who needs to be winning there. This is important as it’s quite common for citizens to farm both sides of a TW, especially in lower divisions, as seen in the picture below.

Arrden: Gold Farming guidelines only apply to Training Wars. Real Wars are about winning and nothing else. The only rule in a Real War is: USA WINS."

Wild Owl: The third norm is to work with players. If you feel that you’ve been overhit (or have overhit someone else for any reason), always send them a polite message. It’s better to sort out issues amicably, then have another farmer with a grudge against you. There’s simply no need for that, and most people will be happy to work and sort out an issue with a fellow player.

There is one caveat to the norm above. Hostile nations (CODE mainly) may not be interested in an agreement with us. Countries that are wiped like Greece or Chile have no incentive to “work” with us as it contributes to their own wipe, so they may steal from us. It’s part of the game, we did the same from them when we were wiped.

This Week in Congress
Speaker of the House Arrden

Congress passed its monthly Budget.

Only 35% of congress voted on the budget, and only 4 Congress members even spoke in the budget discussion that was open for 6 days.

War News: Mexico Leaves CODE
Wild Owl

Mexico has decided to leave Code. Mexico’s decisions in Code were harmful to our interests, but it seems that they realize that their location is an impediment to being in Code (bordering Asteria members USA and Colombia; and neutral Cuba). It remains to be seen how Mexico handles itself in the future, and work needs to be done to gain trust on both sides, but hopefully, we can have civil ties and a training war in the future. Our MoFA Herr Vootsman’s credibility helped us to work with Mexico and help them see the light. While Mexico is wiped as of today, it would be fair to assume that they’ll have regions and TWs again quite soon. Mexico’s map (which is quite colorful), can be seen below.

Greece wiped

Greece has joined Chile in the list of wiped countries. There is currently a RW going on in Peloponnese, and it remains to be seen how long Asteria can hold Greek cores, but for now, one of Code’s major players has been removed from the map. Greece has always fought well and tanked considerably throughout history, so this is a major accomplishment for Asteria.

Huge props to our fighters, and our allies, Bulgaria, Republic of North Macedonia, Lithuania, and Romania, in helping us achieve this. Diplomatically, our NAP with Dwarf continues to work in our favor enabling us to target hostile Code nations.
