1: Congress Election Wrap Up
Maxmillian VonWillebrand

Greetings once again to you all from behind the desk right here in the Department of Media newsroom. Reporting to you again, I’m Maxmillian VonWillebrand, your Deputy Secretary of Media. Today we join in a discussion with the Party Presidents of the Top 5 Parties in the eUSA to get a recap of the recent Congressional elections and how it will affect their parties..

Today, you will hear from Tyler Bubblar of the Federalist Party, Henry Pfeiffer Arundel of the United States Workers Party, Napalm Norm of the American Military Party, Geronimo100 of We The People and TellUrGrlThx from the fledgling rising starLiberty Advancement Party.

We opened today’s questions with “Did the elections turn out as you expected? Explain.”

Tyler Bubblar said “We have been consistently getting close to the 3-% mark that is exactly where we were so yes it did.”
Pfeiffer responded with probably the best summary of the voting percentages in his article, HERE. The article gives the insights into their party specifically and is well written.
Napalm Norm was quoted as saying “The elections went very well for the AMP this term. Our primaries had a slightly smaller turnout of candidates, but I feel our elected candidates will do an amazing job. We also had a very good voter turnout from the party this month with about 66% of members voting, so overall I said we did great.”
Geronimo 100 commented “I must say that last Congress elections ended without surprises. WTP hoped to retain 9 seats and we did it. Also eUS had slightly higher voter turnout than on December elections. Of course there are rooms for improvements, but in general, we are content.”
Finally, TellUrGrlThx was heard saying “Yeah the election turned out better than what I guessed. We ended getting 1 more guy in than my expected amount of guys we would have got. I usually guess it correct every month but LAP ended up beating my expectations.”

Moving on, we opened the floor for the second question of “Did you have any PTO concerns coming into this election?”

TellUrGrlThx started us off with “Not really, I keep a close check on the party and new members pretty well to notice if someone different joined and such. I can say our top 13 was for sure non PTO members and were players who just want to help benefit eUSA.”
Geronimo 100 made us all laugh when he said “PTO? Where? Really we were pretty good without them ruining elections, and that's how it's supposed to be.”
Pfeiffer kept it short and sweet with “None.”
Tyler Bubblar simply stated “While we have a few stubborn stragglers from the AFA remaining here in the eUSA the PTO is a shell of what it was. We also try to vet the people we run as thoroughly as we can so my concerns in that department were very small.”
Finally, Napalm Norm said “Nothing major from the party, our official candidates all checked out okay and was comfortable with a majority of people signed up even those who weren't official candidates.”

Today’s discussion concluded with yet another difficult question to ponder: “Twinkies (original or new-and-improved) or Sno-balls (pink or white?)?”

While Original Twinkies did manage to edge out the competition, it seems there is a strong contingent of followers out there who are very passionate about Reeses and chocolate cupcakes...

I hope you enjoyed the read today!!

2: Congress Month in Review
Trekker Tlumac

The 73rd Congress began on the 26th of December in the wake of a holiday voting day. The session began with 53 members and ended with 51 members after two members left. One was auto-censured (rrrtttrrr) for taking a bribe for accepting a citizenship request that did not pass IES checks. The other member to leave, quit congress (Uncle Shylock).

The party breakdown of the congressional members was as follows:

The Fed Party had 15 members: Tyler Bubblar, Alexj1890, MourningStar, Trekker Tlumac, Molly Emma, Konoha no Kiiroi Senko, arith seneviratne, crashthompson, IndexInfinity, logamac, Raidoh, Leothechosen, dk3dknight, stephen s, kody5

The UWSP had 12 members: Derphoof, Henry Pfeiffer Arundel, Darkmantle, Aramec, Commius, NOTLD, Delyruin, The Rohirrim, Killing Time, Kortanul, The Wild Card, gnilraps

WTP had 8 members: Hale26, Tanishq, Talostastic, Disco Musolini, dmjohston, Geronimo100, Franklin Stone, Cholan

The AMP had 9 members : Napalm Norm, John Largo, Evry, emdoublegee, George S. Patton Jr., LordOther, Malarkey83, Lauren Eilola, BeachBunny

The LAP had 9 members: Maxmillian VoWillebrand, Lothair Carlovingian, Uncle Shylock, TellUrGirlThx, Nesterus, Arrden, rrrtttrrr, Enkel, Oblige

The first week brought the Speaker of the House election.. The Speaker of the House was determined to be Kortanul, who won a runoff election after no candidate for SoH attained a majority during the first round of voting. Deputy Speakers were AlexJ1890 and Oblige, with the Whip being Stephen S.

First order of every week is to determine the vote needed to pass any legislation by fixing a quorum. That is done by congressional sign in. The quorum is half the number of congressional members to sign, plus one.

The quorums for all for weeks follow as below

Week 1: Quorum was 26
Week 2: Quorum was 22
Week 3: Quorum was 23
Week 4: Quorum was 23

The term carried many interesting sessions of discussion including the normal proceedings that covered things such as budgetary concerns and voting on MPP’s (Mutual Protection Acts). These are things that keep the country running from day to day.

There were several important things that also went on last term such as the discussion, proposal and subsequent voting on amending the constitution. Particularly directed at changing and updating the eUS constitution to accommodate for clearer wording on the voting process for Speaker of the House.

Here are some of the other proposals, discussions, and/or votes we have coming from this congress include:

[Vote] Repeal state rights

[DISCUSSION] THE SPLITTING OF GEORGIA ACT OF 2013

[Discussion] Apolitical Military Academy

[Vote] Silly Law Act of Almost 2014

[Proposal] In which Congress abolishes mathematics

[DISCUSSION] Department of Education - Office of History

[Discussion] Allocating funding to the Bank Up To Strength Up Program

[Discussion] Changing Tennessee to "Equestria"

[Discussion] Banning the use of Smiling Face with Sunglasses Emoji in Congress

[DISCUSSION] Behind the 8 Ball

3: War Map & Analysis
Mourning Star

Home Front:

Mexibro Round 2!
With Mexico and Venezuela finally becoming neutral the US was able to MPP Mexico again. Mexico as you know has a Bro Pact with the US and is one of our closely trusted allies in Latin America. A Bro-Pact basically says that we will mutually protect each other’s interests.

European Theatre

We have proposed and accepted a Mutual Protection Pact with the UK! Why? Allow me to enlighten you for a minute or two…
An MPP with the UK iis a step forward for international relations in a post TWO world.
Many new allies can and will be gained. Trust will be re-established with that MPP.
Words from the President’s Mouth:
"UK, Spain and Poland give us stability and help us protect our Eastern seaboard from any attack from Western Europe. Having them as allies, against a Serb-led alliance is beneficial to American interests and lets us expand and hold onto our bonuses in East Asia and Mexico (Baja)." -Wild Owl

5: Department of Education’s Personal Missions
TellUrGrlThx

For those players that are younger than a year old and citizens of the eUS, I strongly recommend you participate in Personal Missions. A Personal Mission is basically a task you complete by yourself and then the DoE gifts you food or CC for doing them. All that is required to receive your gifts is the filling out a simple form for each mission you do. We currently have five missions available. Three of these tasks are one time missions and the other two are daily missions. These missions can be completed daily until the next round of missions are released and a new article is published naming our newest tasks and their rewards.

So far the DoE has given out 2,760 Q5 food and 1,925 CC to players who have completed this round of missions. We have so much more to give out and we are trying our best to make it simpler for players to participate. We encourage anyone interested in participating to do so. So please fill out the form and read our latest article!

A word from Wild Owl:
"The MU competition just started, so fight efficiently and fight hard. I know of a few MUs that will be using the newly implemented boosters so get on IRC and work together on joint hits. Lets get as many American MUs as we can in the top 25."
