Where the mind is without fear

In light of the recent events in our country, I thought it would be an apt time for reminiscing Gurudev's lines:

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

These events will go a long way in reminding all of us we have a difficult path ahead of us which we must tread before we realize our dreams as a nation. They shall also serve as a good barometer and an eye opener for all of us internet politicians and police about the extent of ideological tensions that have been brewing in our country for some time but more importantly it also gives us an opportunity to stop and look where we are headed and think and mould and remould our ideas of a nation.

I hope we grab this opportunity to do some rational thinking and take some time out of our busy lives to dwell deeper and search for the truth, learn about what the difference of opinion constitutes of and why it exists and do our own interpretations, listen to that of others and then form an opinion instead of being swayed by hate, prejudice, anger and rhetoric.

I am sure all of you have some opinions or beliefs on these matters but sans opinions, let us all incorporate non-violence & the essence of Gurudev's verses while expressing our views.
