What Percentage of Each Country Plays eRepublik?
Major Lee Hung
I've been wondering for awhile now (but could never be bothered to do the maths) just what percentage of real world citizens play eRepublik; so, here's the list!
(I only chose some countries, because I can't be bothered to go through every single country on eRepublik - it's Monday and I'm tired. I might update it later with the rest. This should be a good enough insight to get the full picture of eRepublik's main market.
Some countries have a very few citizens actually from that country (Pakistan, Belgium, Saudia Arabia etc) so I'm not going to add those too as it isn't a realistic reflection of their community)
Worl😛
0.003% of the world plays eRepublik
In each country, the following percentage of it's population plays eRepublik...
UK: 0.003%
Argentina: 0.028%
Australia: 0.004%
Brazil: 0.007%
Bulgaria: 0.11%
Bosnia: 0.036%
Canada: 0.004%
Chile: 0.06%
China: 0.00024% (Remember that censorship here means many people aren't able to access eRepublik, as it's flagged as some political activist thing)
Croatia: 0.09%
France: 0.004%
Germany: 0.002%
Hungary: 0.054%
Irelan😛
0.013%
Indonesia: 0.003%
Japan: 0.00052%
Macedonia: 0.32%
Mexico: 0.005%
Norway: 0.005%
Peru: 0.008%
Polan😛
0.03%
Romania: 0.024%
Serbia: 0.2%
Spain: 0.003%
Sweden: 0.01%
Turkey: 0.01%
USA: 0.003%
Conclusions
The game is extremely popular amongst SOME developing countries. Countries such as China have very little interest it seems. Countries with a long history of disputes, such as Serbia and Poland, have an extremely large percentage.
Countries such as Croatia and Sweden appear to have fallen rapidly. This shows how much Serbia's group of friends are likely to dominate for a long time in to the future.
Developed countries have the lowest percentages recorded. 0.003% indicates that the general population of that country doesn't find eRepublik enticing enough to want to play. At the high point of eRepublik, countries like ePoland had 0.1% of their population playing the game. 0.006% of the world played during the peak of eRepublik, many moons ago.
Fun Stat
For every 188,000 (Thanks Emergy Maxfell for the number, turns out I'm very bad at maths) people you meet, 1 is probably a player of eRepublik. This is true for both in the world as a whole, and in the eUK the number is also the same!

I highly doubt that 1/1000 of the UK population plays eRep 😛
At least, not actively
Interesting that we have the same % as the USA, who have constant wars and (until recently) very liberal citizenship. I guess the answer is that the damage done by their liberal citizenship procedure (sacrificing democracy to work on an ATO, loads of foreign language media) has led to many players quitting.
I didn't use a calculator for that bit, but I'll change it later. 😛 I think it's 1/4,000 or something.
And yeah, eUSA and eUK are very similar in terms of proportions.
Shouldn't it be 1/33000 of the UK/World population
I got 16.000 on a calculator. If it's actually 33,000 then let me know, because maths definitely isn't my strong point! I had to use a percentage calculator for the country stats.
Wow my maths is that horrible? Thanks though!
This is more indepth than the chart I ran, very nice Joshua.
At the time I was comparing English/other native language speaking patterns.
Ireland has a huge % for an English speaking nation, however if you account for our non-native players our stats fall just above line for the language group
Goes to show the power of immigration.
Sounds like a good analysis Sweet Drinker 😃 You got a link? It's always useful to know just how we can make our country stronger by comparing statistics.
I think i've seen like 4 other players from Scotland in the time i've been here
I'm telling you, an independent Scotland would be screwed here lol
Hahaha, that it would! 😛 You and Moriarty would be all that's there to hold down the fort
40,000 student at Manchester uni
x0.00003 (uk multiplier)
=1.2 people playing at manchester uni
-me
awwwwwwww 🙁 just me then
you got to add in half the people in this game are dead/banned/multi's/or bots.
which one are you Serbian Loyalist?
Good article Josh, you would have done my MoHA proud o7

Excellent work, again something I've been thinking about lately (get out of my mind!).
Could you do a comparison between these figures and facebook usage?
Very interesting numbers. It would indeed be interesting to know how many are dead/banned/multis in each country, but I'm impressed enough at this analysis!
very interesting, excellent stuff!
LLC, the comparison with any other online game or program would be most interesting.
excellent article
MaryamQ only 2% of accounts were real and active last time I checked
