Thoughts on e-Treason

Day 1,637, 18:35 Published in USA USA by JLake4

Could one say e-treason exists? It would certainly be a topic of debate and many different ideas could be taken into play, and as always this would be a concept subjective to your point of view.

But if we’re talking objectively, what constitutes treason? The first place to go would be to talk about treason as defined in reality. Here is how treason is defined in reality, per the US Constitution:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Surprisingly, one could easily draw parallels into the game from the real definition of treason. Namely, that treason is aiding an enemy in war or giving them “aid and comfort.”

A player could accomplish all of these tasks quite easily, and while the first is commonplace (fighting to get the mercenary medal will inevitably pit you against the eUSA and/or her allies), the second two could be adapted to include the provision of citizenship for enemies of the state and not following procedures to safely bring foreigners into the eUSA (and compromising national security by extension).

Helm’s Deep=National Security. Uruk-hai Army😛TO’ers. Saruman? You know who.

Surely, the only thing one could agree on is sponsoring or heading up a PTO would easily constitute e-Treason. This would include a PTO at any level- CP, PP, Congress, etc, and would include aiding a citizen of an enemy country, perhaps, too. But it’s a gray area beyond that.
Moreover, how would it be punished?

Not this way.

It’s hard to do anything since there is no deportation function or any form of imprisonment. One would have to punish treason with social rejection and/or blacklisting from every organization and political office, but suffer through the presence of the traitor until they quit or move on.

This way.

Effectively a traitor in this game, as defined above, would be a constant nuisance, something like a splinter you could never remove, ever. There are really endless analogies. Post your own in the comments! Winner gets 5 USD.
In closing, perhaps a formal definition of e-treason should be provided as laid out in this article:

“Any man who consorts with or allows the unlawful entry of a citizen of an enemy country or one in active combat with the e-United States, any man who in a sustained and hostile way raises arms against the e-United States, any man who attempts to unlawfully supplant the rightful candidates for a political office and place himself or the aforementioned enemy citizens into said office, any man who would by any other means steal and abuse political power, shall be defined as an e-traitor.”

As always, dear reader, have a good day/night, and V/S/S!
