Think Long and Hard, eIndia
av khan
The presidential elections this time are gonna be very interesting.
This time its not gonna be a fight of who is better.
Of course we all know both are awesome.
This isn't even gonna be a fight of who has better plans or who belongs to which party.
This time its gonna be a fight of who eIndia think has better foreign policy.
A look at both the manifestos, miles n mav and their comments prove my above theory.
Another interesting factor to note here is maverik's candidature, who prior to his announcement of candidature was lying low (to some extent). Of course, after looking at maverik's first comment on miles manifesto and previous article I was expecting something from (uh lets call it) proEDEN side (maverik's side) to come up with something strong, though admittedly not as strong as maverik's candidature which in a sense also proves the conviction of proEDEN side in their beliefs. As, imho, they couldn't have brought in a better candidate except one or two others. Though all of these could just be my speculations.
Nevertheless,That is a point to be noted eIndia and kept in mind while voting whether you are with or against this side.
Now lets move on to examine the foreign policies of both candidates.
I have used the word proEDEN above to cut down some extra words. But it isn't actually that. Its more like EDEN-oriented or Bulgaria-oriented. As neither maverik nor miles express explicit desires to cut off from the other side.
Looking at Bulgaria-oriented policy, its clear that they are following an uncompromising policy of 'respect and be respected' and brotherhood of the kind which one would have expected EDEN to show in solving BG-TR issue.
However, this policy in turn could pose a certain number of problems for the country in the long-term. Possibly give India at least 2 or may be more hostile nations at its borders.
India, becoming neutral won't be a good choice either as well all know neutral nations are only respected as long as they haven't got resources which the neighbours need or not even that in-case they even seem to give an inkling of siding with the nation that is neighbour's enemy. A perfect case of this would be situation of eJapan and Republic of China (Taiwan) in recent months.
Looking at EDEN-oriented policy, its my opinion, that they are following, what they would think as, path of rationality instead of (uh supposedly) respect and passion. eIndia has been proEDEN since ages. And looking at even this passionately, one would say its natural to side them.
Yet, one can't say that this side will appeal to mind after what EDEN has done to Bulgaria. Frankly, I have been looking at it and it seemed like EDEN people were somehow replaced by eRepublik admins, making mistake after mistake after mistake. An implication of this might be the end of EDEN, yes, thats very possible, which, if India follows EDEN-oriented policy would put India in a dire situation. As India, would have, most probably, lost the brother kind of relation with Bulgaria by that time which might land India in worst situation than the worst of Bulgaria-oriented side.
Though most of the article is based on speculations. The decision is very difficult eIndia. Think long and hard.
P.S: And don't forget to join the presidential debate.

A sneeky first maybe?
the choice is simple, as miles would have probably said or am just blindly guessing! Hail Bulgaria... : D
o7
eIndia is EDEN. o7
@fighter100 - GEA, I guess... : )
don't see any difference...as we have gotten help from eden nations for so long despite being in GEA. ; )

nice article, this month im following elections in india 🙂
😁 and so are the great, wonderful pro EDEN nation known as Turkey, who have d3ecided to take things in their own hands and look to PTO us. : D
I cant see any better way to further alienate us!
As I told mav on IRC once before, getting wiped is not an issue. Issue is the price we have to pay to stay on map. If the price is being a harlot, I am strictly against it. Respect is something some people have forgotten.
Very interesting article. You're right on ofc: it wasn't at all in my plans to contest this term, but this wasn't a 'pro-EDEN camp' nomination, since tbh it was entirely my decision to contest & I hadn't even discussed it with anyone prior to announcing. I did so as I have faith in my abilities to ensure we never have to beg/bow before anyone, but command respect - have proved it before. Will strive to do the same again! \m/
Imho rationality does not mean lack of passion or respect, but moreover passion & faith in one's abilities to work out long term solutions. As you said, "eIndia has been proEDEN since ages. And looking at even this passionately, one would say its natural to side them." Even in football, one does not switch teams just because your fellow player, however brotherly one is, goes to another club.
As Ash pointed out, however, this Turkish PTO is getting serious, and we'll have to handle it before it gets out of hand.
Moreover, I do Not have a problem with getting wiped .. its all pixels at the end of the day. I Do have a problem with neutrality at this point, even though I was one of its biggest advocates a couple of years back.
Also, India won't be losing Bulgaria as a brother, even if we remain pro-EDEN. Not many folks have worked as long and as closely with both EDEN & Bulgaria as I have; I can safely tell you, Bulgaria isn't the kind of nation to lose respect for us if we choose our own path rather than just following their's.
In any case, where that path leads us in the long term is yet to be seen...
Interesting...very interesting!
Staying neutral isnt bad for India. You only border two countries (China and Thailand) and neither of them have any motive to attack. If India chooses to support Bulgaria and ONE over TEDEN, India would be a hostile nation to China. This would lead to India being wiped. However, if India stays on EDEN's side, it would be secure. India's small population has a good deal right now: five resources and a large amount of land. Is it worth risking that?
Voted, great article for those new to eIndia and are trying to follow the presidential election!
