The Real Harmful Choice for America
Mattoze5
Hello everyone,
It's time for another Sweet Vindication 😉
Based on another article that described “congressional all-stars”, it has come to my attention that Weezly, Oblige, Alias Vision, Edward LoCo, M1TRO, and t0b1 are all originally considered to be “harmful choices for America”. Now I can’t speak for all of these candidates but I can speak for at least 3 of them, and let me tell you who the real harmful choice for America is:
It’s not the people mentioned above; believe it or not even Oblige’s actions could not possibly overcome the kind of wrongful actions I am about to describe: the kind of behavior that was used to write the article in the first place. I’ve heard all the excuses too: “telling it like it is,” “It’ll make them perform their job better in the future,” “Not denying it was subjective, but good analysis.” But the honest to God truth is that writing, and, even worse, supporting articles like this, truly harms America. Now I’ll admit that with the few exceptional mistakes/errors the analysis provided in the article was fine, in fact it was actually quite good, but the bolded labeling that followed was inexcusable. And to proceed to name people who should have won instead, demeaning the current winners, was just outright un-called-for. It enhances exactly the kind of elitist, disrespectful behaviors that so many of us are trying to remove or expel from this eCountry.
Instead of out-casting the unknown, we should be welcoming them; instead of pointing fingers at the people who make mistakes, we should be helping them; instead of judging the newcomers before they’ve had a chance, we should be positively encouraging them. I can honestly say that was not the goal of the “congressional all-stars” article. In fact that the only real all-stars of that article were the ones who stood up for themselves and fought back, in the comments section, the hideous remarks.
David Wilson and the many people who liked his article, whether intentional or not, did not remember that it was the person behind the keyboard who counts most.
The only question now is, will you?
God Bless America,
Mattoze5
P.S Evry is a “he” 😛

noi Evry is a female
vvv
V + I agree with you, although I am a little biased on this thing because I am accused on the "list".
Populists saying things about players without proofs are last thing eUSA needs.
Evry is a girl, no vote
Congressional drama? Unheard of....
".......remember that it was the person behind the keyboard who counts most."
"Instead of out-casting the unknown, we should be welcoming them; instead of pointing fingers at the people who make mistakes, we should be helping them; instead of judging the newcomers before they’ve had a chance, we should be positively encouraging them."
Win. Well done.
Aren't you doing the same thing that you are accusing David Wilson and people who liked the article of? I'm just curious what your intentions are.
Mr. Peanuts, he's doing the same thing by showing how wrong someone's deeds are. David Wilson has accused many people to be harmful just because he's ignorant. Pointing out that his attitude actually IS harmful isn't the same thing.
Nice article Bia.
That's fair Herra Karkkimies but I see pointing a finger at someone who made a mistake rather than helping, I don't see the positive encouragement. It's fair that this problem was pointed out, but that's all that's done in this article. I'm saying I see one thing while doing another. If we really want welcoming instead of finger pointing I think that should apply to everyone, including David Wilson and those who supported his article.
Mr. Peanuts, David Wilson is not a new player in the U.S., thus I see no point in "welcoming" an old player. He made a mistake on his own and dishonoured players which he doesn't even know - people who did nothing to deserve such treatment - new people willing to help the U.S.
One of them which he has marked as "harmful" - M1TRO, was the candidate of David's party (AMP) and was a congress member last month and he has proved as worthy congressman.
If one writes a populist article compromising reputation of other players to gain votes and subscribers I don't see other way to react but to confute and point out the harmfulness of such acts. And about the voters of that article - I can only say that they have fallen victim to false propaganda.
Once again - not knowing a person gives you no right to say lies about them.
I'm not trying to argue that what David Wilson did was right or wrong or how old he is. I'm trying to say that the article here is suggesting we not point fingers at people who make mistakes while pointing a finger at someone who made a mistake. "Welcoming" might not be the right word for an older player but we can still help them when they make mistakes.
No, that's not the point of this article. Feel free to point your finger and yell when people are doing harm on purpose, but never accuse falsely others for your own benefit.
I highly doubt that David made a mistake. I believe that he did something wrong for personal gain at the expense of others, and therefor I don't think there's anything wrong with Mattoze5's article.
I actually did like the Article that David Wilson wrotte. It is true that it can be considered Harmfull, but there is a systemic problem in the US because of vote buying and congressmen not doing their job. These people should be pointed out. And if a congressman doesn't even bother showing on the forum a single time in 30 days, than yes, he might be better leaving that spot for people who will actually be participating and representing their citizens.
Chucky, has anyone directed people who are congressmen for the first time to show on the forum?
Just to show one case:
WYOMING: t0b1 (CvP) - who?
t0b1 is my friend, a Finn, and he's new in the U.S. For David it was enough not to know him to mark him as harmful. Has anyone contacted him? Asked him to join congress forums/channels?
Two days ago, he was among top 50 USAF fighters, he's a hardworking and loyal player, if you don't know someone, doesn't give you right to disrespect them.
I've signed in as congress member on the forums, and posted always on the Approved Citizenship requests -topic after giving citizenship to someone approved. I've been quite busy rl with my studies lately, so I've been mostly active on irc (One more day before graduation). I'd really like to know, is there another, private channel for congress too? Anyone willing to help me on that can contact me on many irc-channels or in-game message, I can be found f.ex from #cvp3, #eus-congress and #usa-chat.
Why should any congress person show up at the eUnited States Forums? None of the 'meta game' over there makes any difference in game. If a Congress members votes on the 7 Laws that affect game play then they are a good Congress member. Just because they do not wish to join a forum where they will be trolled and belittled into oblivion for any idea that isn't 'Pfeifferist' originated doesn't make them a bad Congress member...it actually shows their intelligence.
Herra, yes there is someone directing them since day 1, It's call a congressional whip. Last month I've received pm daily about the topics we had on the forum and encouraging us every time to sign in.
And Dru, people get bullied because not enought stand up to put a stop to it. Last month we managed not to actually get bullied because people would stand up for each other. Staying out of the forum and ignoring the problem will never solve anything.
As for the possible mistake, yes it's possible that David made a few bad judgement, but then again considering the number of congressman, I think it's a fair assesment. If anything it will probably serve as a good wake up call.
Go Away Ajay
General Cartman Lee:
Why is it that on everything Mattoze5 writes or posts you always make a reference to Ajay Bruno? You can PM me if you don't want to discuss it on here. I mean obviously you're either trying to be a nuisance or something closely related to it.
I would just like to point out that the current members of Congress have managed to get themselves shut down. If that's not harmful for the nation, I'm not sure what is.
