The Meaning and Value of National Communities

Day 2,757, 00:56 Published in Ireland Ireland by Colin Fox

Communities are the only reason this game works. To define what I call a "community" I would say it's all existing groups and subgroups of individual players working in collective effort to achieve a goal(s). The New World is set up as one giant game board in which primary and secondary communities compete/collaborate with each other.

A primary community composes of those who share our national identity and thus we are expected to be working towards our collective goals and interest. It is perhaps every patriot's most sacred duty, to work towards the common good and welfare of the community of eIreland. Secondary communities go into the inherent meta-game within the game that occurs naturally when it acts as a social medium. Individuals, either led into or stray into, these secondary communities to achieve a more specific goal whose interest is not inherently guaranteed to be working towards the interest of the primary community. The secondary communities together drive the progress of the primary community (the collective whole) but may also severely hinder its development.

"We declare the right of the people of Ireland to the ownership of Ireland, and to the unfettered control of Irish destinies, to be sovereign and indefeasible. The long usurpation of that right by a foreign people and government has not extinguished the right, nor can it ever be extinguished except by the destruction of the Irish people. . .

. . .The Irish Republic is entitled to, and hereby claims, the allegiance of every Irishman and Irish woman. The Republic guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities of all its citizens, and declares its resolve to pursue the happiness and prosperity of the whole nation and of all its parts, cherishing all the children of the nation equally, and oblivious of the differences carefully fostered by an alien government, which have divided a minority in the past.
" ~ Poblacht na hÉireann

I believe eSocialism should not be so much concerned with the productive sphere, but with the reproductive sphere - to enrich the community, the players in it, and grow together through mutual cooperation, collaboration, and service. eSocialism is the manifestation of secondary communities' realization of their national consciousness; the collective consciousness which either helps or hinders the primary community. By debating and discussing openly, writing articles, participating in community events, recruiting new players, helping younger players, performing administrative duties, all these things are methods to achieve the goal of eIrish eSocialism.

eIreland may get wiped one day, as it has before, or now it could fall under a foreign dictator - nonetheless the greatest defense against such crisis is by fostering a vibrant and united primary community. There are moments when we do come together, but it is always during when the alternative is being wiped. Is that our only collective goal; to defend ourselves otherwise besides that we're content with status quo? We need to institute more democratic functions in government, which is only possible through the empowerment and risen consciousness of the secondary communities. Only during war do we all seem to be eIrish. Who do we become when there is peace?
