The Legacy of the New Deal

Day 3,003, 20:58 Published in USA USA by Jaredbeaudrie123
10 Feburary 2016 The United States of America as of 1 Janurary 2016 has occurred nearly USD $20 trillion in debt to various organizations. Not only are we in massive debt, we also had to deal with a government shutdown due to the party rivalries behind extending the debt ceiling. The founding fathers would not have dealt with this by simply creating an artificial ceiling that cannot hold due to lack of support and facilitates the creation of another artificial ceiling that can only be described as temporary. The origin of this conundrum came back to the election of Franklin D. Roosevelt and the implementation of the New Deal.

The New Deal was created in response to the Wall Street Crash of 1929 or Black Monday which sent the United States into a panic worse than any other in American history. Buisinesses closed and the Economic "prosperity" that our great nation had experienced during the interbellum had finally come to an end. The New Deal had in essence allowed the government to take control over the faling assets that plunged our country into darkness.

Unfortunately, the idea of government having complete control over its industry has been proven as a failed concept that had unfortunately gripped our modern era with social and economic problems. Communisim in essence is the government having complete control over the industry and the private sector. The effects of Communisim was intended to create an equal society in which nobody was rich or poor. The exact opposite happened over time in the Soviet Union. After Stalin took power he centralized all the wealth, and control of the resources and the resources went to the leader and the rich, and the class system remained the same as in Tsarist Russia. Socialism only works when the economic system is accepted by the people through the ballot, not forced through by the threat of a bayonet in your back.

Redistribution of wealth has been tried many times but has failed due to the nature of humans to be greedy and selfish and only worrying about self-preservation above all else. The only way we can create an equal society is if we stopped being greedy and accepted that we actually have to work with other people, then maybe, just maybe we can have equality for all, not just equality for the few. Thus, we need to preform a redistribution of wealth so that everybody is equal not just encouraging us to step on the competition to get to the top of the food chain.

(I am trying to do a daily post and I will try to get 1 new article up about the economy or politics of America every day to allow the opinions to flow as I will allow you to freely comment and criticize on the topic at hand and debate your position forwards)
