THE INDIA

Day 2,624, 08:21 Published in India India by Rashtrapati Bhavan

I take the pride in wishing this great land on the 66th Republic day, The Republic of India

66 years might sound small considering there are countries which fared better in lesser time and there have been some in existence for much more time, here you have to consider that many thought and some wished India will not stand test of time. One can not fault them, India is so diverse to be united.

Here, today, we are still thriving on the democracy roots laid down by our leaders who struggled relentlessly for our freedom. India has always been a land where one can be free to do his will. It is only appropriate to quote here, one of the finest men the world has seen from India

Yes, we have our short comings, every nation has them, we are just human. The land which thought the world many things from peaceful living to science and maths, you can find not even a handful of places where non-native elements have been allowed to blend into the mainstream culture.

Our Parsi(Zoroastrian), yes they became ours, majority will laugh at you if you say Tata's are not Indian. There is a natural instinct in every Indian to care for others and nature. We never hesitate to share our knowledge with the world, might be the only place in the world where Guru(Teacher) is placed next to God.

We have a rich heritage but we can no longer linger on it, what matters now is restoring glory to our soil and contributing our part to the Loka Kalyanam(World's Prosperity).

There are many challenges we still have to overcome, it shall be our duty to for well-being of our nation and it shall begin with doing our duty properly first, remember a nation thrives only when it's people excel.

Only thing we do for India is do our duty properly first and never hesitate to question what is wrong.

It is our duty to be a true Indian, fierce when defending ourselves and compassionate at other times.

There is much more I could say about what I feel about India, if only words were enough to describe it. It is not so because it is where I was born or live, it is because it is India, the land of diversity and unity.

JAI HIND!

Vijayakrishna,
President of eIndia.
