Reflections on Trivia

Day 331, 03:43 Published in USA USA by Publius

While initially opposed to eRepublik Trivia, I've come to believe it does make this game more interesting than simply two clicks a day. I've made the following observations:

Answer the Training questions, skip the Working questions.
Correctly answering trivia for training improves your strength, while correct working trivia only boosts your productivity (not your skill). Until the admins change it so that your skill benefits from working trivia, employers reward for productivity, or you are working for your own company, realize that you are only doing this for your edification and not your avatar's benefit.

Trust your first instinct...
And click the first answer that feels right. The supershot doubles your bonus, which is huge. This is one of those things that's harder to do in practice that theory, because it's a judgement call whether you can find the answer in time. I find the general knowledge questions easier to google, but the economics ones more of a crapshoot.

Source of the Questions
The training questions tend towards general knowledge and I haven't yet found an online quiz where these questions are drawn from. The working questions have tended towards economics, and they seem to be drawn from web sources. I've found matches for my trivia questions at the following: http://webcas.cas.suffolk.edu/economics/cagdas/summer07%5Cchp123.doc http://tutor2u.net/quiz/economics/default.aspIf you have any more leads, throw them in the comments, and I'll try to keep this updated.

Invitation to help make the trivia easier
I've begun a wiki site to collect the trivia questions. I invite you to add your questions and correct answers for everyone's benefit. Just copy and paste from your trivia results page (and make sure to keep only the correct answer). I'll be contributing most days.http://erepublikquiz.wikidot.com/

Will the admins suspend accounts for trivia collaboration?
I doubt it. Everything from politics to companies is focused on fostering social interaction, as it encourages people to spend more time on eRepublik. I don't see this as any different.  Publius.
