Beste Landgenoten,

Velen van u zullen het al gehoord hebben, Zweden heeft tegen ons trial lidmaatschap van Asgard gestemd! Wat hen hierbij bezield heeft, is mij een raadsel. Ik heb ze duidelijk uitgelegd dat wij van Asgard geen bevrijding verwachten, dat zouden ze ook niet eens kunnen! We hebben sinds we EDEN verlieten voor hun gevochten, en vaak hebben wij daarbij nog de doorslag voor hun gegeven ook! Nou, dat is nu voorbij, wij zullen niet meer voor Zweden vechten, ze hebben hiermee een goede vriend en bondgenoot verloren. We zullen uiteraard wel bijven vechten voor onze echte vrienden, de Noren en Canadezen. Maar Asgard, dat is voor ons voltooid verleden tijd! In de as met die gaard. XD



Wat gaan we dan als eNL doen, zult u zich afvragen? Er zijn nog een aantal geheime gesprekken gaande over onze toekomst. Ik hoop daar over enige tijd duidelijkheid over te kunnen geven. Helaas ziet die er niet florissant uit, tot nu toe weigeren de polen ons ook maar een enkele regio te gunnen. In de woorden van de SG van Two: “I have no use for free dutchies.” (ik heb niets aan vrije Nederlanders) Laten wij dit opslaan in ons collectieve geheugen, en te zijner tijd dit met gepaste munt terug betalen. XD. Het is tenslotte niet de eerste keer dat deze persoon ons benadeelt. Ik herinner me nog een trainingsoorlog van Belgie met de Hongaren, die toen maar meteen onze enige regio, Zuid Nederland bezetten.

Hebben wij dan helemaal geen vrienden in deze nieuwe wereld, zult u zich misschien afvragen? Jawel, naast de Noren en de Canadezen, natuurlijk onze Ierse bro’s. Waarvoor we op dit moment aan ‘t vechten zijn! Dan zijn er nog de Kroaten, die het ook maar niet lukken zich in Europa te handhaven. En onze Chinese kameraden, maar natuurlijk zijn ook die druk.

Ook in Zuid Amerika hebben we goeie vrinden, maar die zijn hoofdzakelijk bezig elkaar af te maken. 😉

Natuurlijk gaan we bezien of het zin heeft nog een poging tot verzet te doen zo tegen de Parlements verkiezingen, maar ik kan u niets beloven, integendeel het ziet er slecht uit.

Teveel mensen, en dan vooral nieuwe spelers stoppen met dit spel voordat ze hun rol in eNL hebben kunnen claimen. Op forum voelen ze zich niet welkom, en worden afgekraakt door oude spelers de menen het er voor het zeggen te hebben. Debatteren is er niet leuk meer, er wordt partij gekozen, woorden in de mond gelegd en sommige spelers blijven in het verleden hangen. Teveel spelers kiezen daarom voor een spel zonder forum, en met hen - sommigen veelbelovend - heb ik vooral ingame en IRC contact. Een optie, maar niet de echte oplossing.

Zo halen we het hart uit het land. Zonder eenheid word 't echt niks met dit land. Waarom blijven zoeken naar punten om de ander aan te vallen? Zoals dat gezeur dat we moeten onderhandelen, hoe vaak denkt u dat ik dat al geprobeerd heb? Ik heb zelfs met de polen bevriende naties ingezet, maar ook zij krijgen er geen poot aan de grond. En 10 duizenden guldens gaan betalen voor onze eigen regio’s zie ik niet zitten. Ook kost het ons dan meer dan dat het ons financieel oplevert. En waar halen we dat geld vandaan? Nee, dat is geen manier van leven! Daarom blijf ik zoeken naar mogelijkheden voor ons als volk. Iets waar we met z’n allen ‘s goed over moeten nadenken: onze toekomst als volk.

Dear fellow citizens,

As many of you may have heard, Sweden has voted against our trial membership of Asgard! Whatever made them do so, it makes no sense. I clearly explained them that we don’t expect to be liberated by Asgard, They couldn’t, even if they wanted. Ever since we left EDEN we fought for them, and often we were able to make the difference for them! Well, that is over, we will no longer fight for Sweden, with this they have lost a good and ally. Of course we will continue to fight for our true friends, the Norwegians and the Canadians. But Asgard, to us is past perfect tense! Guard it into the ashes. XD



What will we do as eNl, you might wonder? There are several secret conversations ongoing about our future, and I hope to be able to tell you more soon. Unfortunatly eNL’s future don’t look so bright, until now the Polish have denied us any region. In words of the SG of TWO: “I have no use for free dutchies.” Let us memorise this in our collective memory and pay them back equally when time comes. It isn’t the first time this person disadvantages us. I remember a trainingwar between Belgium and Hungary, in which the latter used it to occupy our only region, Southern Netherlands.

Do we have no friends in this new world, you might ask? We do! Besides our friends from Norway and Canada we have our Irish bro’s who we are currently fighting for! Then there are the Croats, who also have problems to maintain in Europe. And our Chinese comrades, who are ofcourse also busy. In South America we also have good friends, but they are mainly busy killing eachother. 😉

Ofcourse we will examine if an attempt of resistance around the Parlement elections is useful, but I can not promise you anything. On the contrary, things are looking bad. Too many people, and then mostly new players, quit playing this game before they can claim their role in eNL. On the forum they do not fel welcome, and get torn apart by old players who feel like they are in control. Debating isn’t fun anymore, people take sides, words are put into their mouths and some players still dwell on the past. Too many players therefor chose a game without forum, and with them - some very high promising- I have contact mostly ingame and on IRC. An option, but not really the best solution.

By this we take the soul out of our country. Without being united this country will go nowhere. Why do we keep searching for things to attack eachother? Like the whining about negotiate, how many times do you think I have tried that? I even tried to nogotiate with help from nations that are friendly to the Polish, but even they can not get it done. And paying 10 thousands of guldens for our own regions is something I do not see fit. Even if it costs us more than it benefits us financially.



And where do we get the money from? No, that is no way of life! That is why I keep looking for possibilities for us as a community. Something what we should all think about: our future as community.
