PP Manifesto for Irish Freedom Party

Day 817, 17:14 Published in Ireland Ireland by John Gormley

It is with great pleasure that I announce my candidature for Party President of the Irish Freedom Party for the election of tomorrow the 15th. of February.
I consider simply being a member of the party a great honour in itself and it would be an even greater privilege to me if I were to become PP of this great party. To make that possible I need your vote and I would like to request you to consider giving me your vote tomorrow.
In this article, I will start by outlining my credentials for the job, then I will outline some of my policies and finally a few of my ideas for what I hope to achieve in the month ahead. I will try to keep it as short as possible.

Credentials:
I began playing this game last March and I have had a lot of political since then. I had 1 Congress term when I started out in the Ireland First party. I then joined the IFP in June and I've had my other 4 Congress terms as an IFP member.
I've also been a Government Minister on two occasions and I've served as a Deputy Minister on a few occasions and I feel I performed well in those roles.
And also I have done a great deal of work within the IFP. This culminated in me being appointed VP to JohnSmith 2K9 for the term just ending.
I have been amongst the top 10 highest XP in the party for months now and in fact I am the most experienced among all the election candidates.
So, clearly I have the experience to help me do a good job in the month ahead.

Policies:
I'll just stick with the main areas here in order not to bore you. The main areas would have to be the economy and the military. I'll start with the economy.
I've always felt that Government intervention in business should be as limited as possible. In particular I mean that taxes should be low to encourage strong private enterprise. Government involvement should be for only 3 reasons. Firstly, of course is to employ new citizens. Second is to correct any obvious flaws in our economy structure and thirdly is support struggling businesses.
As for military, for a long time I felt neutrality has been our best option. Now, however, our military is growing and needs to be tested. I feel the Government took a brave decision to finally bring us to a real war (granted it was ultimately a training war) and I feel it worked out well. But we need to be careful where we go from here. Joining an alliance wouldn't be that attractive to me, but we will probably need to and my preference would be to EDEN.

Ideas:
Finally, I will just list here some of the plans I have for the next month if I am electe😛
(1): I would like a lot more party members signed up to both the national forums and the party forums and also to the IDF. I plan to write PMs to members with links to all 3 and I will urge them to sign up.
(2): I plan to of course sustain the excellent election results that the party has recently achieved. I will do my utmost to support the party's election candidates.
(3): A while back, huge recruitment saw us becoming the biggest party in Ireland in terms of number of members. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to sustain that but with the help of other committed party members I hope to rectify that.
(4): Now for what might seem a strange one. I have noticed that our party is very much male-dominated. There are little or no female members I talk to on a regular basis which is very strange. Some female charm and intellect could do wonders for our party and I would love for that to happen.

Thank you for reading. I ask you to vote tomorrow and make that vote John Gormley for PP of the Irish Freedom Party!

Sincerely,
John Gormley
