On the day of Party President Elections

Thinking about Party President Elections, many questions as to why be in a party let alone vote. As a new player you join a party for various reasons (speaking from my own experience – so don’t laugh) I normally chose because of the size of party, if it had a nice name, silly things like that.

When you see political party you think of the likes of ANC, DA, COPE, etc. Not the case, our parties are totally different in this eRepublik. So, why do we choose a party - I asked the question to some experienced players and this is what I got.

1. People can get their ideologies heard and they could join parties with the same ideology. Thus, they can help influence the government in a methodical way.

2. Socializing is the largest aspect of the game. Getting to know people is very important, as you learn to work together; you gain respect and a reputation. You make friends and in the end you get to know the community. Thus you can bring forth development through ideas which will be respected and regarded as useful.

3. You cannot get presidency, congress or cabinet without a party affiliation. eSA is small and needs people to be involved politically. Innovation is rare and to extend our borders one day we need to build ourselves up first. In eSA, the people are there for the society, and the society not there for the people. Anyone can help change/improve eSA.” - Wilpanzer1

Many other opinions all with merit.

So align yourself with a party that represents you and your viewpoints. Choose parties that have good leaders, because a team is only as good as its players. Become active in your party and help move your country forward. Become active in voting.

remember - YOU CAN’T COMPLAIN IF YOU ARE NOT VOTING - use your voice.
