New Alliances! What does this mean for Aus?

Day 2,280, 22:40 Published in Australia Australia by Tim_Holtz

TL😉R be warned

So as mentioned here in our Glorious vCP’s article, there are now 2 Formed Alliances. Now interestingly enough Chile will not be joining either meaning we have a series of odd things which are happening.

Alliances yo

Firstly, technically both alliances are open to us joining them. Chile is going to form a Pro-Sirius alliance which will be roughly fighting for roughly the same goals (think Terra and EDEN if you are old like me). Asteria therefore has Chile as an enemy, meaning we should be able to join them however Sirius is still an option due to the fact that Chile has refused to join Sirius in favour of a allied yet separate alliance, that means that Sirius is potentially open to us aswell.

Sirius (black) in all its glory
Secondly, What would happen should we join Sirius?
Let us assume for the moment that we joined Sirius, We would be allied to Indonesia and Chile by default leaving us in a decent position, and we get Peru, NZ and South Africa as options for expansion or region trades or even Training wars. We could strengthen relations by doing a region swap with Indo (say NT for LSI) to prevent resentment on the Indo side. This leaves Chile. We simply MPP them and help them against Argentina.

How about exploring that last option for a second, MPP Chile and help them get their resources from Argentina rather than us. Now im imagining people saying:

“but Tim (who I find sexually attractive) haven’t Argentina been helping us for a long time? Wouldn’t that be betrayal of an ally to help an enemy?”

The Short answer is “No”. The Long answer is “No it most certainly isn’t”

Who signed the NAP that made it possible for Chile to come to Australia in the first place? I’ll give you a hint, their name rhymes with Smargentina.

The First thing that poped up in google images when i put in Asteria
Thirdly, Say we join Asteria. What would that hold for us?
Well, firstly we get NZ as an ally, yay I suppose. That however means we get Indo and Chile as enemies, joyous days constant fights for survival. The only consolation prize there is that China and Taiwan would be our allies (good luck getting them to help though).

We would get slight domination in Europe but as far as our neck of the woods go, do you think Argentina is going to help us? Why would they risk their bonuses for us? The answer is they wouldn’t, they signed over our regions in exchange for secure bonuses at home. What glorious allies, not to mention FlorenciaC is in a top position in Argentina... that alone is almost reason enough not to go anywhere near that alliance.

There are some good points however, Romania has been a good ally to Australia, others may doubt them but they have been good to us, and surprisingly Serbia has been quite decent too. Not even to mention Greece who will always be an ally no matter which side we are on. If we go by members then 4/6 founders of Asteria are good news for Australia. Not too bad I guess.

its true you know!

Fourthly, What do I personally think?
Ok, ill be honest here, after rereading this article I realise its quite pro-Sirius, but don’t make judgements before you read this part, in general I favour Sirius however joining them in my humble opinion would need some conditions, Chile being the major one. There is no point being in an alliance when we are wiped and the alliance is unwilling to help.

I’d only join Sirius if they talk to Chile and get them out of our regions, MPP them and help them take bonuses from elsewhere.

I’d be personally willing to offer Chile a month of Victoria and Queensland as an offer of good faith for them to get the bonuses. But signed in stone and blood that after that month they get lost from our regions and don’t return anytime soon.

So in my Sirius situation (it’s really easy to do horrible puns with this alliance), Chile give up 5/7 regions immediately, and keep Victoria and Queensland for 1 month to give them time to conquer bonuses from elsewhere.

What happens if Chile refuses this offer? Asteria anyone? Fight the good fight and never give up, I personally refuse to live in a country where our fate is resigned to never get our regions back. Fight on until the last man. Let Chile know that’s what we will do, and let them know they could have avoided it by being less arrogant.
