Ok so here goes..... nothing...

I've been playing this game for a little while now and I can classify myself safely as a log on, work, maybe fight a little, and log off....

Get interested in a mission here or there sometimes....

Anyway, While I enjoy the game, I don't have the patience to get into the "meta" game...

Does that make me a bad party member/citizen/player?

The meta is really the fun part of the game, but you're not a bad citizen just because you don't play like that. There are many levels this game can be played on. The way you're playing right now is fine, but I'd say don't be afraid to get involved if you find something that catches your interest. It's not hard, and it's only as time-consuming as you let it be.
