Mieliepap, Maltabella and Oats

Day 2,080, 08:44 Published in South Africa South Africa by Nickerball

I would like to tell you something about my country and it’s people. We are a diverse bunch of cultures coming together in one nation. Not all of us sits next to one fire at night, not even during the day, but the fact is we live in one beautiful piece of land at the bottom tip of Africa. It’s a place we call home.

The reason why all of us won’t sit next to the same fire you will find in real life as well as in this game. It’s the same, no matter how you look at it. People have been brain washed with a lot of untruths and the truths that should have been told was told as if it were just folklore. Such a pity, such a sad, sad history we have. I call it the porridge difference.

For those who live in this country, they will know that you will get at least one of three different warm porrigdes in most homes anywhere in early morning South Africa. Mieliepap, Maltabella or Oats. Definitely you will also get your cereals, because not everyone prefers a cooked porrigde in the morning, so we cater for those as well.

That is the basic porridge or truths of South Africa. Its also the difference you will find in South Africa. You see, not everyone eats his or her porridge the same way. I like my porridge just with butter and sugar, and sometimes when I make mieliepap, I will add rice crispies as well just for a little difference. I have teached that to my grandson too, and when he visits me on a weekend, that is how he likes his mieliepap. Sometimes he will just have rice cripsies, but then he will add a heaped spoon of milo to his bowl of rice crispies because he likes it like that. I don’t.

The same goes for the peoples of South Africa. Some heard the truth, some heard half truths but believe that it is the truth because they heard it as the truth, as so it goes on. Everytime someone tells something, they add a little extra to make it worth the while for the listener, hell it has to be interesting or no one will listen, and in the end, its not the truth anymore. But people believe it is, because it was told as the truth.

By the way, I love Mieliepap, Maltabella, Oats and Cereals, all depending how I feel when I wake up in the morning. I prefer to make my own because then I don’t have to tell someone else I don’t like it the way they prepared it.

Not everything you hear is the truth, but not everything you hear is a lie either.

I feel sorry for the young people ion South Africa who do not know the real truth. They are the ones to suffer from all the different ways people liked to have their porridge every morning, so now they don’t know the real way to enjoy something so simple as a cooked porridge.
BTW all cooked porridge has to have a little salt with it, otherwise it is real bland.

It is also the same with racism.

Mieliepap, Maltabella and Oats and in between you get your different Cereals
