This is going to be an exciting election for Switzerland. We have 4 candidates! POSSIBLY 5 !

● Please stay involved and participate in this election. I am trying to offer you as much information about each candidate that I can.
● Keep your minds open for the qualities each candidate has to offer our country.

First, I wish to thank LucasFTM for his excellent job and for all of his hard work for the last 2 terms as our country President.
He has remained active and involved and as always, loyal to eSwitzerland.
Hail Lucas FTM !

This is our first interview with one of the Candidates. Please let me introduce Kishvier.

1. Hello Kishvier. Please tell us a little about yourself in-game and in real life.

Well, I've played eRep for a number of years, served in congress for the eUS and eSwiss, and a number of MU's including the Swiss Guard, ST6 and EZCo. Irl, I'm a student at Clarkson University studying Software Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. I'm twenty years old and build custom circuits and write up small programs for people in my spare time, and I'm currently working with a team on a 2-D scroller game, based in Unity.

2. Switzerland is always under threat by larger countries. What plans do you have for keeping us safe?

Build more ties with larger countries. I'm not afraid to call upon old friends to help us out, and I'd like to continue the work we've done with countries like eItaly. We can't look after ourselves alone, we need help. With continued diplomacy I think we can do a better job of keeping ourselves on the map, and not run into any missed elections like we unfortunately saw this month.

3. Our population has always been small, but now it’s getting even smaller. We are desperate for a baby boom. What plans do you have for increasing citizenship?

Well for starters I'm going to push folks to invite their friends. I've been inviting a few of my friends and helping them along their way in the last month or two. That isn't a sustainable way to recruit, but it's a start. Beyond that I'm thinking of dropping by other eCountry's forums and seeking out folks who are tired of the gigantic, structured countries MU's and governments. That is one of the reasons I chose to move to eSwitzerland all those years ago, anyone can become anything, here. Look at me, I went from the occasional congressman to running for country president. Here you can do anything, and you're aren't held down by a elite class that controls politics and who becomes what.

4. Tell us about any other goals you may have.

Hmmm...well for starters we really need to get ourselves on the map and our population growing. After that we can start thinking about other things. For instance, I'd love to get a commune working for our armed forces, and really redo and invigorate our country departments. They're spotty sometimes and it doesn't do anything to help us retain players, or fight as a single country. After that, well I won't get ahead of myself, baby steps. Let’s get what we need to done before we think about what we want.

5. How do you feel about transparency in government and communication in general?

I'm not quite sure what you meant with this question, so I'll do my best to answer it. I think transparency is key, it was something I nagged Lucas with all month in congress, what are the numbers, where is the money coming from, how much money do we have, what is our income? If people see that stuff, then they'll be happier and you'll cover your own bases, better. Of course, there are things that can't be said, I think everyone will appreciate a need for secrecy for war tactics and such, but most things can and should be publicly available. I want to start posting numbers and plans on the forums so that people can come and go, seeing what we're doing in the government.

On the topic of communication, well I think it could use some serious work. I think more needs to be communicated in a timelier manner. Battlefield orders need to be quick and on time, there have been a few this month that were hours late, and led to a significant amount of wasted damage. Things like that are dangerous to player retention, and to the effectiveness of our country. Additionally, we see four articles here from a department in the first week of office, and then nothing for the rest of the month. That can't happen. We need to pace ourselves in the offices and develop more content, at the very least.

6. As a small country, we need all the friends we can get. How do you feel about MPPs and how would you fund them.

MPPs, well they're extremely important. We can draw an immense amount of damage in during key battles with them, and also give our soldiers something to fight when we're in a time of peace. Too often in my time here have there been periods of up to a week with not a single battle! Now that's not to say that I don't enjoy some time off from fighting enemies ready to take our soil, but we need area for our soldiers to continuously train and for our weapons markets to work. I honestly don't know what the numbers are in taxes on a daily basis, but that'll be one of the first things I'll take a look at if elected, so I can figure out how much I can divert to MPP's.

7. Have you used our forum? How can we increase participation?

Well, I'm the global moderator on the forums. Due to past experience in forum management, I was chosen to assist with the upkeep on the forum. I'm on every day, multiple times to make sure you're all following the rules and such, and see if there's anything that could use my input. Any of you in congress can vouch that I was one of the most active congressmen on the forum last month, and I'd like to see more activity on it.

Some folks aren't particularly keen on using the forums, we had a great debacle in congress over whether we should use the forums or PM's to communicate and vote, and while in certain terms we could survive off PM's, there is a limit to how many people can be in one PM and the forums are laid out in a much better format for the purpose of voting and discussion. I plan on giving a gentle push to the forums, and hopefully offering some goodies to help finish the transition. I also think that by posting the stuff mentioned in the earlier question about transparency on the forums, will cause a shift to using the forums, as well.

8. How can we turn our 2 clickers into active citizens?

Give them opportunities. A long, long time ago I had become a two-clicker because I had been turned away, trying to get into congress and into the military higher-ups, and a fellow by the name of George Armstrong Custer picked me up and gave me a shot. Like him or not, he got me back into the game and into congress, in a region where I was put up against an old eUS president (Emerick, if any of you remember him). That really got me going, and I want to give that opportunity to the members of our country. If you haven't noticed so far, I'm a fan of giving the little guy an opportunity to do big things. I don't want anyone to get so fed up with the structure of the system that they quit or become a two-clicker, I want to see that drive moving the country forward.

Thank you so much Kishvier for permitting me this interview with you. You have proffered many new and good ideas for our country. I wish you the very best of luck in the election.

Regards to ALL,
Rican
