My fellow Vikings,

It’s been sometime since I’ve posted an article, been pretty busy with everyone going away on vacation at work and then having to entertain family that came over from abroad, but somehow I still found some time to do some tasks for the Norwegian Embassy. For those that don’t know I’m the Norwegian Ambassador for the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

So a while back I was asked to search for ways on how we could improve our relations with these countries (specifically France and the Netherlands) and from there I also asked how we as Norway are viewed in the international community and how they feel about Asgard. I contracted several members on each of these countries governments in search for answers, I was pretty happy that I got replies back from most of their members.

First I interviewed the Dutch government, when I asked how they felt about Norway It came down to one thing – They think we are awesome, they love us, they have come to think of us as their closest allies and friends in this game. Hey, wasn’t that one of the reasons I came to Norway for? I think it’s an awesome community who works closely together and there is lots of support too! With that said though, there is room for improvement, they are willing to deepen the ties with Norway, they want to see us more active on the IRC and have even offered us to use their supply channel #nl-supply for our battles. Communication also should be improved, eNL is more than willing to help us in our battles but we often forget to ask for help or we ask when the campaigns has had several battles already.

I also went ahead and asked the government members about how they feel about Asgard. After having their application turned down by Sweden and then later given a cold shoulder by Finland the Dutch think that Norway and Canada deserve much better, I know that Norway had diligently supported the Netherlands though its application and I’d like to thank those countries who had supported eNL. I had also learned not long ago that Canada is leaving Asgard. It’s a shame at the least what happened, because eNL is pretty close to the Nordic countries, perhaps this could lead to new roads.

Ahh yes and then there is France, the French are pretty awesome too aren’t they? I think so! I had learned French at one point, after all Canada’s national language is English and French, and you’ll need it If you ever visit Quebec. So I went ahead and interviewed the French government, No I didn’t use French in my writing that’s gone a little downhill… Aside from that they where diligent in their answers, and said that they share the same goals and ideas as Norway does and would love to build a relationship on this, when they get to know us, they think of us as sympathetic and great friends, they are also close in there relations with Asgard. However they all agreed that Norway should work to improve the relations with France, and gave a couple suggestions including having more meetings with each other and perhaps having CS exchanges. They would also like us to help them out more in future battles and in turn I asked that perhaps our MU’s should co-operate along side each other.

I’m still in the midst of collecting more information but I was getting pressed to get an article out soon all while still waiting on some replies, but this is most of the information that I have collected. I would like to thank the Dutch and French government for taking the time and answering my questions so that we can follow up and improve our relations in the international community and take steps towards action.
